Heres my Double Solid electra 2259 SG copy. i picked it up around 13 years ago for $75 and has been a favorite of mine. the neck thickens out towards the body which is not so good for lead, but i actually enjoy this feature and it makes room for funky jazz chords that would otherwise be a bit of a squeeze. plus the scratch plate looks very dracula.

Just a question, i was looking through the old catalogues and was interested in some information.

1. how do i check what year it was made

2. anyone got any info on the humbucks?

3. any idea as to the original RRP.

4. In regards to the electra stable im assuming this was a base of mid level model, can anyone confirm this?

thanks guys, hope u enjoy the pics.

Welcome to the Electra Forums!

Even 13 years ago I'd say that $75 was a pretty good deal. At least, you could triple your money without too much trouble on E-stink. Your linkies are no good; you might want to take a look at them. Having little experience with that model (but based on pictures) I would agree with your assessment that it's the base of the mid level. As for the pickups, close ups of the front and backs would be a great help in identifying them - my guess is that they're no names. Telling the year is largely guesswork as lots of factors are involved, so the easy answer is that it was likely made in the 70's =P. However, telling us the first few digits of your S/N may provide a clue. I know, my post has been mostly useless up until this point. I really just wanted to ask you a question; is the neck the three piece, unpainted, bolt variety, or a painted set neck variety?

Regards,
Oreo

i had trouble linking the images to the forum, so they are instead links that you can click and will take u to the image.

its the painted set neck variety and theres no distinguishing marks on the pick-ups.

ill have to have a look at the serial number but thanks for your interest.
