A bit steep for me, but I'd love one.

I know what you mean. I think I saw that one a while back or one like it. Back in the day clear guitars, basses and drums were the rage. (I think they got bored at Dupont) I showed my son some Led Zepplin last night on VH1 where John B. had a set of clear drums. I would like to own an Armstrong but I got a craving for an Avenger 2275C that I cant get over right now. The one in the model index makes me drool.

Those clear drums are Ludwig Vistalites (SP?) and are collectors items not. I played with a drummer who had a set. They had the worst drum sound I ever heard.

Clear drums...sounds toy-ish.
I wonder if this Electra is just a re-branded Ibanez?
I believe their copy is the same.

That thing is hot. I've been drooling over it on eBay for quite a while now, but I'm really just in the market for bass stuff right now.

I've seen a Univox-branded copy that was similar if not identical - so yeah, guessing that the Ibanez, Univox, and Electra ones are the same.

Actually I believe that the pickups are diffrent.
Probably changed between names.
Funny how no one has bidded on it yet.
With a $450 start, no wonder though.

This is at least the third time it's been listed, with the prices dropping every time. I think it originally started at $600 with $700 BIN.

You might be right about the pickups thing too, now that you mention it.

You're kidding.
Feel sorry for the seller, thinking that he'd get so much...jeez.
It's a nice instrument, but for that much buy a few other Electras.
As in, at once.

Yea, I know. I never saw a set in concert or on television that didnt have mics in every hole or pillows and towels stuffed in them. Today it might not matter much. My brother spent a lot of time getting his pearls (not clear) to sound good while recording at the house, and wound up using drum triggers. Now he can get any sound he wants running it thru his lap top program.

Heard the same thing about these clear "Dan Armstrong" guitars. Cool look but about the crappies sound imaginable!

I remember watching "Don Kirschner's Rock Concert" as a kid (remember the days before MTV anyone?) and saw musicians use one for one song (not much playing either) then immediately put it down and pick up their Strat or LP!

Yes I do remember. We used to wait for the Midnight Special with Wolf Man to go off so we could watch Rock Concert. There were a lot of clear guitars and basses. Now and then a flying V, but mostly LPs and Strats like you said. Elvin Bishop used to be on Midnight Special alot back then but I dont remember if he was playing an Electra then or not. (around the time he was struten his stuff yall)
