Check this out...

http://www.plek.com/en_US/meinungen/internet/

I just recently had my X410 Jazz Strad "PLEK'D" at Westwood Music and all I can say is that even though I've been playing, writing and recording with her ever since I got her, she never felt "just right"...not quite as sweet as my Maple Pro... but who has $220 bucks for a machine to set up a guitar, right?

So after much cynicism and trepidation, not to mention debt restructuring, I said what the hell and had Leland put her through the PLEK and the only thing wrong is that I WISH I HAD DONE IT THE DAY I GOT HER!!!

I cannot believe how much better she plays! I had no idea! It was honestly the best money I've ever spent on a set up. Even the guys at Westwood were amazed at how much more sustain the Strad has over their Gibby 335's.

So, if you have any Electras that are just not fretting or feeling as nice as they used to, suck it up and get PLEK'd if you can. You will find yourself with a "new" guitar.

Just thought y'all might want to know...

Cheers!
:D

I must admit, I've been considering it for quite a while now. It is definitely cost prohibitive...

I'd still rather give the cash to a human who has worked at it for years to perfect himself as a luthier over a machine.
Especially considering the price.
I paid less for my P-Bass.
Yes, I mean a real Fender.

It has advantages, but not for me, either way.

I am too darned cheap! I must say that I learned to set mine up myself because I am too cheap to pay someone else that does not always do a good job. My tools and books cost me a bit more than that but I have setup a tone of guitars. Now I enjoy it for the most part. Every Electra I have every had played very nicely after setup.

The closest PLEK around here would probably be Nashville anyway, and that is not very close. I don't know that I have even seen a guitar that has been PLEK'd. Anyhow, I am very glad it worked out for you. All I know is that it is done by machine - I don't know much else. It is always nice to get a guitar setup and playing like it should isn't it?
