:bawl: :bawl: :bawl: Sad to see another butchered up MPC especially in this finish. I just do not understand why someone would gut out all the MPC circuits in favor of a standard LP wire setup when the 5way is so much better and the MPC modules are just an added bonus to the sound, but to each his own I guess. This one is a bit pricey for a butcher shop version in my opinion. You can judge for yourself:

I saw that!

Is it a waste or were the mods for the better?

Maybe the buyer will let us know?

RCSBlues :-?

I dont know, Its kinda like taking a Porsch or a Lambo and putting in a Buick V6 with a 2 barrel. It wasnt made that way. It was supposed to sound a certain way, and do certain things, like a Les Paul, Strat, Martin 12 string ect............. and if Im not mistaken, Electra did make a Gibson Les Paul copy, SG copy, Strart copy.............Why screw up an MPC to make the same copy they already had? Then direct your buyers to the electra site for more info on what you screwed up?

Please excuse me, I must go to my happy place now. Woosaaaa..................

I'd do it because I don't like Lamborghini or Porsche.

AS for the MPC, someone should ask if he kept the original parts. I highly doubt it, but if you're electronically skilled, I guess you might be able to save it...

Cut a hole in the hood, put on a 6-71 blower, throw out the turbo that came with it,tub it with 32" goodyears and a four link, throw out the factory wheels and put on some 20" aluminum rims, rip out the seats, and radio and put in plastic buckets and gages across the dash or whats left of it and a PA system from the foot ball feild....................My point was they made a copy of a copy, the same thing that was offered on another page in the catalog for less money. A step back. But I know you cant save them all and people will tinker, hack and cut to try things they believe to be better and of course the big bottom line that over rides everything is ....they bought it, its theirs and they can and will do what they want with it. I once saw a Gibson Lucille at a flea market with the neck reattached to the body in another position, it had been made into a lamp.

That being said those are very good looking rides. Something I would buy.( I had an 82 Buick)

darn, man. I just saw a roundabout excuse to post my Olds. That's all...I know what you meant. However, who's to say that when he did it, it wasn't just some "junk jap guitar" that played well but didn't quite do what he wanted?

Regardless, I didn't mean to ruffle any feathers. Besides, the right person could very likely reverse most of those mods. It could be much worse-how many vintage Electras, Ibanezes, Gibsons, Fenders, Grecos, Deans, Hamers, etc., were Floyded or Kahlered or routed for the wrong pickups or refinned to match some leopard print spandex? It could be much, much worse...

Just for the sake of it:
Does anyone else think the Grand National logo looks like the Jiffy Lube "J"?

Sorry to come off so harsh. I totally get what you said as well. My MPC has aged well and aside from some tuner bath and a battery now and then it is not much trouble. I have other guitars but this one is my favorite, maybe because it is so different.
