Although he should know I would doubt that an established company like SLM would use an artists name without permission. He may have had a falling out early on and wished to "forget" that he ever endorsed them.

Or his managment set it up without his support.

I have heard that Kirk Pengilly of INXS played a Westone.

...as did Status Quo at one stage.
