I know, I know, I want to be there too, but I can't. So I'm sending along several guitars to be given away as a drawing. Mike will tell you more about that as they arrive.

Here's the Grand Prize, one of the lucky Fest attendees will take home this lovely X130NA!

But I'll sweeten the pot thus further: I'll also donate several guitar projects to be given away to lucky winners drawn at the fest- but you need not be present to win, and we'll ship it to wherever you are!

OK, if this is you, if you want to win an Electra project and bring it back to life, then send a PM message to ProEndorser and tell him to put your name in the hat. The drawing will be at Electrafest, but you can win it from home if you can't attend.

The fine print: you must be a registered forum member to win (which you are, if you're reading this) and if you win you have to give your prize a good home! (we have ways of making sure you get something you like, no white elephants... unless you like that sort of thing)

OK, let's look at that X130 some more:

Image

It's not perfect. Non-original knobs, one bridge saddle replaced, and the pickguard is cracked at the bottom (held together with tape at the moment)

But on the bright side, it's got really exceptionally good flame on the maple neck:

And the figured ash body is truly spectacular:

The serial shows that it was made in February 1982, one of the last batch of X130's. The eight digit serial also shows that February was a big production month, although this was perhaps the 246th Electra made that month (counting all models). But this was one of the last of the ash bodies, and it got a hand-chosen neck to match.

Ah, there's that flame. It's hard to photograph!

This guitar could be yours, if you attend Electra Fest 2009! Even if you can't make it, register with ProEndorser to win one of several other Electra prizes!

heh, jsut wait till you see the OTHER prizes. And that's right, you're going to be there, aren't you? Lucky dog!

ProEndorser was all worried that being host, maybe he shouldn't take part in the drawing. Nothing doing! He's all contributing hospitality and stuff. So I made him promise he'd put his name in the hat, fair and square. You guys that are there, make sure he plays fair on this one.

Oh yah, there's nothing I love more about a great rally than going home and sleeping in my own bed at the end of the day.

I'd love to be there too.
It's just too far, though.
But my Electras aren't exactly rarities, except for the low serial# on my Phoenix, so no one is missing much.

Wow X189, that is awesome of you to contribute items like this!

Looking forward to this even more now!

My Electras aren't really anything special either, but how fun will it be to have several of them rattling the windows at the same time? Makes me grin just thinking about it! :D

See you guys in MI in a few days. Can't wait!

Again, thanks to ProEndorser for hosting, and very cool contributions from X189. You guys ROCK!

Wow. It hardly seems possible but... yes it does. The attendees at ElectraFest were so taken by other prizes that they let this one go. Now it will go to another winner as described in the Electrafest post:

http://www.rivercityamps.com/electraforum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=4207&start=15

So... who will it go to? Whomever picks it will have to do so at a distance, without playign it first. Maybe the attendees at Electrafest can comment how it compared to the other Electras there.

I'll start, I played it. The light ash body is comfortable like any thinline or ash guitar. The MMK's sound great!

But ok, how does it compare, you guys who chose other guitars instead? maple neck, brass nut...

For me,,,,the X130NA played and sounded great, the Westone just suited my needs better. Simple as that. But,,,,it was a very tough choice. The Burn Victim had mojo like you wouldnt believe, the pickups were a bit hotter than the rest and the neck was to die for. Had I gotten first choice, The Hard luck Electra would have come home with me.

Blessings, Paul
