The Explorer is unbranded, it looks like Kasuga/Cort stuff. It's small, 3/4 size, and the edge has been painted with this pink/purple bichromatic paint. It's sorta cool, sorta hideous. I always thought it would be the perfect thing for the budding rock star (but she's 4 and still playing nylon strings only)

The slanted wall/ceiling display is interesting, and those guitars get taken down to play too. HOw I mounted them was to get a short piece of nylon strap and cut a slit, heat seared, basically like the end of a guitar strap. Then I screwed this stub strap to the wall and added a piece of copper wire up top.

To mount the guitar, hang the bottom strap button in the strap, lift it up, and wrap the copper wire around the neck and twist behind. It's low-tech, cheap, and effective.

Thats a fine collection. Your right up there with Steve Howe and Jimmy Page. Last time (and the only time) I saw that many guitars in one place was in a Nashville music store. The wall of fame is quite cool. Again, thats a fine collection. I like the LP's, Tele's and the Vee's.

I dont know why, but I keep hearing Billy Maze screaming "Thats right, just one bottle of Electra Guitar Polish cleans all these guitars in minutes!"

here's a can of worms- branded westone, I think it's a Korean prototype, but who knows:

This is a Westone Rail. If I ever find one I'll make it mine. (within reason)

Westone also made these as a bass guitar.

No, that's different. I saw it too. it's a rail bass with a guitar neck added (I'm gonna do this too!)

The pink rail guitar is something else. I think it's a later Westone prototype, you know the Korean-made Westones sold in the UK? Yah. ANd it's sketchy, this thing is sketchy. But what a sweet little guitar! When I get around to it maybe I'll fabricate new bridge saddles for the couple that are gone- all handmade silly stuff made of wood. Definitely thrown together in a workshop rahter than planned and manufactured. Yeah, probably the rarest guitar I have.

Being the Rail fanatic I am (owning one Rail bass of each color), might I ask for a few better pictures of that wonky pink thing?

I'm with Warren on this; for the Westone fans a few more pix of the pink rail guitar would be appreciated... :D

OK... it's 'in storage' which actually means it's at the back of the closet, Bear with me while i get at it.

It's a strange piece, so flimsy that I can't believe it was ever playable- maybe a display piece at a trade show? But the way the pink laminated finish was done is something no home enthusiast (or sane luthier) would ever do- it's industrial. Yet the WEstone eagle logo (associated with the UK Westone brand) is obviously handpainted, professionally, but it's not a sticker or a silkscreen. To me all this suggests pre-production demo stuff- like catalog photos shot before any actual guitar was made, showing a handmade slightly varied prototype.

It's one of the first guitars I got on ebay when I first started collecting Electras and WEstones, and I'vfe never seen anything like it since.

Well if it's unplayable and you keep it in the back of your closet, I'd be more than happy to take it off your hands and display it as a wall ornament! Assuming you ever want to get rid of it, of course.

Not meaning to speak out of turn but my guess would be a no on any of x189's collection being available. This post is 3+ years old that you have necro'ed.

Nope... this thread was X189 showing us what he had lying about the place, not a For Sale display!

Good on ya for trying, though! :D
