I prefer the subtle thinner flame tops myself (wink wink). We've commented on this one a few times, and JMM who lives close has tried to set up a trade or talk him down, unsuccessfully. This will be the third consecutive month it's been listed. Good luck to him though, if it sells, it just makes mine worth that much more. Also, sometimes guitars with no wear are that way for a reason...

To play devils advocate, really clean 'Investment' Guitars usually languish in closets and climate controlled environments where they rarely get played, which is a crime! When I play the X935's at gigs, I always have dudes coming up and asking about them, the PRS guys look pretty sober when I show them the smooth heal and tell them what I payed for mine.

Here's the most recent thread about that guitar:

1000 is a lot of money even for an Electra.

Dude, we,re not pulling your leg when we tell you that you can get a great looking, sounding Electra for a heck of a lot less, and still have money left over for new strings. Look at some of the stuff the guys have found in the last few months.

Here's the seller's response to my polite inquiry. As someone else said, it may be worth $1,000 to him since he can sit on it forever - in other words, doesn't NEED to sell it.

Quote:
thanks for your consideration, i understand that my price is high in comparison to the "accepted norm". i have had so many "electra guys" email me telling me i am too high or whatever, the fact is this guitar is worth 2000 when you compare it to whats available to purchase on the open market, i would take this instrument over any new Gibson. i am relocating so i have put a number of my guitars up for sale, the last three that are not sold i will just keep, again thanks for your interest

By the way, Jeff here is the same seller I got my Jazz Strad 410 (I think that's what it is) . He does a nice job with the photos and that one guitar came in a bit rougher than he portrayed. I let him know it but it wasn't enough to make a scene about it. Just FYI.
