Someone may want to take a look into this one and the price is right I think.

If that was near me I'd be on my way to pick it up right now.

This Iowa bass looks cleaner, has a case, and seems to have all the original electronics... and is one third of the price of this one down in tulsa:

http://tulsa.craigslist.org/msg/1334390102.html

I'd say the Iowa is a steal... someone should pick it up. X189 says the X640pw is one of the rarer basses, and with (unmolested) active EQ is one of their top-of-the-line!! Go crazy gents!

I've bought two guitars from far away on Craigs List... you just have to make the shipping and inconvenience worth their while.

See, I could make an excuse for the current price, but with shipping, it's simply out of my grasp. Is there anyone on the forum who lives nearby it?

Pretty!! Hey, see it's got Uncle Matts crazy barrel saddles, too!! There's been a bit of discussion about these over at Mat.org - see the way the E + A strings break at an angle across the saddle... there are Vantage and Westone do that too!!

Hey guys, I am trying to sell my exc. condition Corsair... but have only had trade offers so far... I am asking $600 + $50 for shipping... and I did state obo... but not a single cash offer has been made. It is posted on these forums as well, is there something wrong with the bass that I am not seeing in the photos? or am I just asking too much?? I paid $560 for it, and have had some work done on it (replaced the mute pad, has brand new strings, had it professionally set-up, replaced a missing screw from one of the tuners, had the fretboard detail cleaned, etc... )

Would you mind taking a look and telling me if there is something more I could do? Thanks for any help!

My feeling is that you are pricing this a bit high, particularly for these times. Although undoubtedly a nice bass and it looks like it is in good condition, it is the bolt neck version which tends to fetch the least. Also, Electra basses just don't get the respect they deserve. You could try doing a search on e-bong a seeing what the price range is. To bad you can't afford to hang on to it. .

I thought that this would go quick but not this quick. Oh well sometimes if you blink you miss a deal I guess. This one will make someone happy.

Yeah, they pulled the original CL post... it deserved to go quick, under-priced for sure, someone got a Deal!

Leigh, welcome to the forum and cool clip! We need more digital content on this site! We've seen Corsairs go for a ton in the past, but as Workingman pointed out, it's been a buyers market since the meltdown last year. I've picked up four guitars this year. You're being very open in acknowledging your purchase price, and it doesn't sound like you payed an unreasonable amount. In the real estate market where time is money, they lower the price 10k a month until there's buyer interest. Lower the price $25 a week until someone bites, or do as you see fit. The corsairs have a good rep, and lord knows what a 30 year old Rickenbacker 4001 would set you back, so it'll sell eventually. Good luck.

Thanks for all of the great thoughts and advice! Yeah, I really thought about the price... and I suppose that's just my breaking point. I mean, I'd rather keep her than loose money on her. I wouldn't mind doing a partial trade if it meant getting the asking price (i.e. like $500 + a nice pedal or something)... otherwise I suppose I'll have to sell a different bass to make the funds I need. Thanks again!

As much as I would love to have a Rickenfaker, especially an Electra Corsair Rickenfaker, I don't have that kind of money right now. :( Most of my other basses were steals.
