8) 8) This seems to be a nice clean example of X250. Looks to be all original and has No Reserve price on bids. Hope someone gets this one cheap. Would be a good score

Yes I agree that shipping is extortion but if it goes cheap enough it will still be a deal

He's just trying to compensate from starting the auction at $.99.

I really have no use for the MPC, but I'd take a guitar for $.99, but would NOT pay that much to ship a guitar that cost me the same price as a value menu item...unless of course it was REALLY REALLY worth it. And hell, this might be that worth it to someone... but when this guitar get to $200+ the winner is STILL going to have to pay $60 to ship. Lose / lose situation.

X250's are not MPC equiped... they just have the four in a row knobs that make them look that way. I don't see any mention of a case. It is conceivable that he is going to take it to one of those 'ups' stores for them to double box, and shipping/packing costs could approach that. It is not a new phenomenon for sellers to try to recoup listing/final selling/paypal fees by jacking up the shipping cost... it's been going on forever. The seller is not trying to hide it, it's right there for all to see and bidders will no doubt take that into account when making their bid, or they should.

On the other hand, the X250 are great guitars. This one is fourteen serial numbers away from my X250, probably made the next day! Here is a sound clip of my X250:

It can hang with any Electra I own, even the ones I paid 2 and 3 times as much for. The powered EQ is versatile, especially if you use the active volume all the time for clean tones. To find one that hasn't had the EQ ripped out is becoming rare. The only thing I see non-stock is the strap hangers, which have been changed to the locking type. Could be a great find for someone, good luck.

If I hadn't banned myself from guitar purchases, I'd be all over this. But alas, I really need to hold off on instruments. I have 20 stringed instruments occupying my house and really just don't have room!

I've scored at least one guitar for super cheap because the seller wanted ridiculously high shipping, alll others were discouraged and i picked it up for an opening bid. Seller's error, my gain.

Don't let your indignation over 'what's right' blind you to the reality that at the end of the auction the total price is the price you pay.

It's up to $90 with four days to go. Eight different bidders...who wants it more? I've already got mine, go crazy dudes.

What did you call... Dibs? I think this is a reasonable deal here. The X250 is a fairly obscure/rare Electra in the sea of MPC's and LP shaped guitars that they produced. And to find one that hasn't been gutted, and as clean as this one... this will be a cool player for someone. It's only the third one in two years I've seen that still had the EQ in it. If a member picked it up, stand up and be acknowledged! I can give you some tips on using the EQ.

I pay more than that a month for gas/electricity in the winter time, and that money is just gone!! I'd rather pay 4 bills for a guitar than give it to my utility company. It's always cool to get a deal on a guitar, but it shouldn't be the only reason you open up your wallet. Afterall, when these guitars start going for more and become (more...) appreciated by the masses, everyone on this forum will benefit. There are still going to be deals out there, but on guitars that aren't offered often, be prepared to compete with other enthusiasts for it... Mike.
