Okay. so after seeing the modified MPC effects in recent posts, I figured I'd pick up a pedal case cheap and play around...

Enter the DOD stereo flanger...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0197177509

listed as non-working, wouldn't power up...

so I got it, put in a battery, and in the back of my mind, I just wondered if it was like the mpc effects, and needed to have a cord plugged in too... plugged a cable in before I hit the pedal to turn it on... yep. the pedal works flawlessly. it's just missing the battery cover. I got the manual off their website...

there's mixed reviews on this one, and some confusion between the B and C models as to which one is weak sounding. this one is definitely not weak...

but now, since it's working, I really don't want to hack it up....

I have one too, the "C" model and it is pretty good. If you are looking for a pedal to mod into an MPC I would look at the Dan Electro ones. I hear they have a pretty good sound but have a plastic case that does not last. That sounds like a good way to go and they are inexpensive.

GOAL! I love it when people can't troubleshoot their own gear.

This was indeed a gem waiting to be found. 1st rules to live by for electronic gear. Make certain it has good battery and is connected then plug it in. I think some folks just like playing in the dark without power. Good score on this one :
