8) I like it and I am a fan of the half doors on the jeeps anyway. I guess that comes from driving all the military vehicles I have driven over the years.

Nice, I drive an 07 Sti. I got it when my 02 WRX was hit by an oil drum falling off a truck going the other direction on Rt. 95, a combined 130 mph crash. My dog and I walked away from it. In fact I drove it to the nearest exit. The car looked like it had been hit by an artilary shell but it kept us safe. I think Subaru has a lifetime customer in me.

Great ride and a great survival story.

My girlfriend and my son walked away when a truck rear ended my 2000 Impreza wagon.

So is this a Subaru thing or does it only apply to Electra playing Subaru owners?

Glad they are OK that looks even worse than mine did.

Electra playing Subaru drivers. That's got to be a small subset.

I have an AMC Eagle, is that close enough to a Subaru?

I think you might be on to something... I used to drive a subaru brat when I went to college ages ago. Actually, I had two. The first one was smashed when a car rear-ended me on the ice and made an accordion of my beloved brat. The 2nd one I had didn't run as well as the first - too bad - I loved that first one. It did GREAT on the snow, but it didn't help the guy that smashed into me from behind stop any faster.

It messed up my back big time and I have had problems ever since. The problems come and go, but when it goes "out" it can be months of pain before it is back to normal. I was lucky though, otherwise I was unhurt. That was a very small vehicle and I could have been killed. My seat belt kept me firmly planted as the the back end of the thing folded. I didn't even hit the side glass, and given how it was hit that was amazing. It could have easily been much worse.

I need to read closer-

I said all of that not even knowing you had a brat, let alone a red one. Yours was like mine, in fact - both of mine were red. Mine had the little bitty tires on it though. I like yours better! One had a roll bar with lights on top and a brush guard.
