Local radio station giving away tickets to Rush in Omaha on Aug. 25th, and I just won the last pair! Sweet!

I saw them in Kansas City on their 30th anniversary tour in 2004, and to be honest, I wasn't expecting a stellar show. Rush is one of my favorite all time bands, but I had never seen them live, and with their age and all......well, I just didn't want to be disappointed. After nearly 3 hours, I was astounded. They were absolutely phenomenal! Sounded great, and as tight as ever. Geddy's voice was a little strained at first, but he was great after a couple of songs. And can that guy slap a bass around.....

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to this. And heck, it's FREE!
Just wanted to share my excitement with y'all.

Peace.

Conrtats on the win. There is something about playing together for 30+ years that can create magic if the people still love what they do. Enjoy the show.

That's awesome! I got to see the 2112 tour twice. Next to Pink Floyd, Rush was probably one of the tightest shows I'd ever seen.

Grats on winning the tickets!

I feel your pain Proendorser. I've never won anything on the radio. Many years ago I called in to win Ozzy tickets. They wanted the 9th caller. I called in and he said "Sorry, you're 6th" and hung up...then it clicked and the DJ came back and said "Sorry, you're 7th". I thought no way this will happen. Again, the phone clicked and DJ came back and said "Sorry you're 8th". At that point I knew I had the tickets!! I was already grinning from ear to ear!! Then the phone clicked again....this time I only heard a dial tone. Just my luck!! :(

Oh how I wish I could have seen them back in the 2112 era. I have some bootlegs of complete 2112 shows that are great, but just not as good as being there. Speaking of which, I'd love to get my hands on some live stuff off Caress of Steel - particularly the Fountain of Lamneth or Necromancer. Any leads?

Sigh, just born a little too late I guess.

Can't believe I just said that......... :-?

I would try Netflix or maybe Youtube.

I think that often myself. I would love to have come of age in the 60's, instead, I was born in the mid-sixties.

Never thought of Netflix, that's a good idea. Youtube is a bit spotty. I don't necessarily need video though either, audio would be great. Sugarmegs has some stuff, but there's a big hole from '74 to '79. I'm really not sure they even did much stuff from Caress of Steel live. The album and tour were considered to be a flop at the time it came out....

I've often wished the same of coming of age in the 60s. But, I was born in '69 so I missed the whole 'revolution' so to speak. But then, that would put me in my late 50s now, so I guess you take the good with the bad ;). And besides - there's something to be said for coming of age during the heyday of hair metal and pointy guitars too. :D

Last year I saw a dvd from a live show in Brazil on VH1 or something and it was great. I saw the Permanent Waves tour and Moving Pictures tour In person way back when.
