Hey Jead...welcome to the Electra forums. You've definately got a nice start there, but I warn you...these won't be enough. Electras are fine instruments all and it's hard to stop grabbin em up when you get a chance. We call it GAS (guitar acquisition syndrome)...and you got it.

Yep, that's a 2245 and it looks like a real beauty. Congrats, I wish I had one.

Welcome Aboard, nice group there! The Walnut guitar is actually a X960 Ultima (but who's splitting hairs?), which are very similar to the X250 (powered Invicta), X260 (Invicta) and X270's (powered EQ), having the MPC circuit it would have been considered a cut above those models. Keep your eyes open for a SemiHollow (Maple Pro, Elvin Bishop, Custom Pro, Burgandy Pro, etc.) as those are real steals when you see what even the 70's Gibsons go for... great bang for the buck there.

Does the Paul have a bolt-on neck? There are a ton of 'Omegas' that have been converted to the standard 2vol/2tone setups and that's what I thought it was from your picture. Great looking axe.

Enjoy, and don't feel obligated to snatch up every Electra out there, but at these prices there is probably worse things you could be doing with your money! Mike.

Yes it is a 960 - What was I thinking?? The 2245 is a bolt on neck (which doesn't bother me at all. The wiring was all screwed up - but sure looked to be original 3 way setup - and in trying to figure that out, I managed to freeze a volume pot as well. (sigh) Should be back in action and better than ever tomorrow though :) . And yes..... I admit to a rather serious case of E-gas. Too bad there's no known cure.

Welcome to the forum;

You've gotten started on a great collection,
although all it takes is one to get you hooked on EAS -
Electra Acquistion Syndrome.

Welcome aboard Jead mate! Nice collection you have going there!

Though not at all a cure for E-Gas (I like that! ), there can be great strides made in soothing our symptoms by coming here and discussing our common disease. Great place this.....

The downside ofcourse being that we will occasionally get blind sided by seeing that 'new' model that catches our eye that we suddenly can't live without. Have no idea how we got along this long without it. And it's up for auction on the 'Bay right NOW! AAAHHHHHRRRRRGGGG!

E-Gas - much better - IMHO.

Odor free - and no mask necessary.

Hot darn!!! The x960 is one nice guitar! I'm really loving everything about it. The x-185 is pretty darn nice too but needs a little setup tweaking.

Once you get it set up, you'll love it!! Best neck EVER on a production guitar.... I'm not biased, you understand... and that pick-up configuration is a Tom Presley masterpiece...

I set the intonation on the Ultima yesterday and amazingly, 3 strings were nearly dead on to start - the other 3 were between 5 and 10 cents out. The bridge and tailpiece didn't need even a micro turn, Darn near a perfect setup for me right out of the ex OHSC! I've already alerted Thorny to expect the od MOD. I'll echo other sentiments and agree that the Phaser is surprisingly useful.

Today, I'll turn my attention to the X185 - general neck cleanup, light fret dressing, bridge adjustment and intonation will take care of that. I need to get a case for this one and play it some more to figure out just what it can do. I can say there's a lot of tonal variation available in this guitar. I bought a metric threaded whammy bar from guitarfetish that screwed right in and the bendmaster seems to hold tune pretty well.

The 2245 is still getting re-wired - wrong pots put a bump in that road.

I can post more pics of these beauties if anyone is interested.
Thanks all!
