No description or pictures, but if this is the laminated Phoenix, you don't see them too often... Ask for pictures, if its been modded, and if the preamp is intact. Also listed is a Memphis Explorer for cheap.

I'm on it. Might need to ask you a few questions.

I'm at your service Sir Jack. First switch is coilcut, 2nd is phase, 3rd is the Preamp on/off switch (which is a 12 pin monster, the other two are fairly easy fixes if the tops are broken off). First knob is Master volume, 2nd knob has a center detent, when active off it acts as a basic tone knob from zero to five, nothing will happen above five when active off. When active is on knob acts as a treble boost from five to ten, bass boost from five to zero, I usually keep it just above the halfway point unless I'm using the neck pickup and need a little bite. Third knob is the active volume, usually keep it pretty low for rhythm, and crank it for solos.

Like the other Phoenix's there is a string-through and non string-through version of the bridge. Mine is the earlier non string-through, but it's a rare enough guitar I didn't want to wait for another one (and haven't seen another until now... that was a year ago). Like most Japanese pickups, the MMK's aren't waxed, but unless you're playing at stage volume, you shouldn't have any squealing problems. Good luck man!

Well, I'm an owner at $375 shipped.

The Good: It's string-thru-body, no major damage, electronics all work and the guy is familiar enough with Electras to describe what they should do.

The Bad: It's an '83 build so it has the Phoenix logo, not the peace sign. Plenty of pick wear. Nicks, spots, and dings all over the body. Custom-made brass plates on back instead of the plastic covers and chrome neck bolt plate.

I'll have more photos when it arrives.

As you noted, Mike, these are hella rare so I didn't quibble with the guy.

I doubt he'll ever be over them, but he might someday have enough... you'd think.

Since ElectraFest I've been pretty good, I've only bought an X145VS, an X140, and this X150. I passed on a Futura project and an X130NA. So, you know, this is progress of a sort, I'm not automatically putting "$999" into the bid field of everything with a peace sign and a maple neck.

Glad that you got one, I'm sure you'll post some pictures when she shows up. Enjoy, Mike.

Ugh, this deal is going bad.

Paid him six days ago. He claims to have sent it FedEx immediately. I'm one day away from him in FedEx time... no guitar and the email responses have stopped.

If nothing shows up on Monday it's time for the ol' Resolution Center.

well that bites man, I feel particularly bad because I kind of brought it to your attention. Did he give you a tracking number? Tell us if/when it shows Jack, we're all pulling for ya...

He kind of deliberately hasn't given me a tracking number. No email response since Wednesday.

I can probably get the money back via PayPal but I really want the guitar.

Hmmm... fingers crossed, Jack!! I hate it when deals go bad, eh; only had one but it took me a long time to go back to eBay...
