I love the finish on the anniversery models . Each seems to have a slight but very plesant variation in color. I have 2 of them and they are both beauties but when placed side by side there is a ever so slight hue difference in the trans black finish. Must be due to the age of the wood or something in the finish age but they look awesome.

Variation in color can also be caused by how much it was out of the case, exposed to air or sunlight (or Beer)... These are the earliest Endorsers, probably from mid 1982 with the Peace Sign logo. Earliest Cherry Sunbursts I've seen are from December 1982, and they have a 'Bird' logo.

Good stuff, There's been a major shift upward of Michigan Electra Street Cred.

OK, the last time I saw this many Electras in one place was at Mullins Music store in Houston, TX. I hung out there as a kid and remember coming in right after they got a new shipment of Electra guitars from SLM. I think there must've been at least a hundred guitars and cases all around. I got to play a good number of them before they were sold!

Back then I had a basket case LP "Black Beauty" copy that I pieced together and swept the floor for several months to acquire.
