Nice! Bridge pup is noticably weird though. Sounds like real nice Electra sustain too. Do I detect an X270 on your wall?

Weird looking, or weird sounding? The Bridge pickup has the square polepieces on dual black bobbins, which is a rare combination. Both the pickups are microphonic and pickup all kinds of noises, intentional and unintentionally. If you use any overdriven or distorted amp settings they will squeal pretty badly, so I kept it pretty quiet when recording this clip. The Bridge pickup is a little thin, but as you can see sounds meaty enough through the Boogie. That pickup is also in backwards, that is how I got it and I kept it that way, which will put the pickups out of phase when selecting both pickups... gives it a 'boinky' brighter and less output sound, but hey if its good enough for Jimmy Page... When either pickup is selected individually the phase isn't a factor.

The Walnut guitar on the wall is a X250 "Powered Invicta", which is very, very similar to the X270, although it looks more like a X960 Ultima from the front with the four in a row knobs. Another example of Electra putting out a ton of models with slight variations.

By weird - I meant not as much output as I'm used to hearing from bridge position. Your explanation makes perfect sense.

I posted the video version of this clip on Youtube..:

It's a purty guitar, and doesn't sound half bad. Despite only having three different tones available, it does it up pretty nicely (I'm so used to having a coiltap or preamp onboard!). Hope the visuals don't bore ya! Enjoy, Mike.

Great looking axe with audio and video - and some great licks - from another Jacaranda fan.
