Those Fender pickguards are not even close-would take less time to cut a new one using the original as a template.
Joe

wow the pickguard is thick! I scraped all the edges and started cleaning it up a bit... even the pickguard appears to have been painted at one time... it has one repair, and one other crack that needs glued, but otherwise, I think I will just reuse the original.... the body is heavy Mohagany... the front was sanded down some, but the color layer is still there... if I can sand a bit more, then bring back the gloss, it might be okay....

Hey McBrat-if you still have the color coat, sand it down with 320 and use wipe-on poly-should get you back to a nice finish :D
Any word on trc or headstock decal? Joe

Mahogany? Really? I may have to chip away at mine to see what it's made out of. It too is super heavy for a little Tele body, I assumed it was just plywood on mine... Mike.

Mine was also mahogany when I stripped it down, several pieces make up the body with 1/8" mahogany caps front and back
I also have a tortoise shell pickguard, looks to be original-never seen another on an Electra. I'll try to get some pics up today.

mine has lots of dents and nicks down into the wood, so no true refinishing... just gonna get the "shiny" back on what's still there...

both pups appear fine...

Here's some pics of the 2253wc mocked up-this was trashed when I got it,huge splits in the finish, gouges, etc. but the neck was staight-although no frets left.
Complete refret, new bone nut, covered mmk45 in neck position,'62 Fender RI in bridge,Wilkinson bridge w/brass compensated saddles, modified tele control plate. Should be a sleeper :D

nice... happen to have any of the original saddle height adjust screws? I'm missing 1.

I fixed your links to go to the full size photos...

your pickguard had a different shape on the top. mine is pointed more at the front, and rises up until it makes the corner. looks like yours rises up, then down for a bit before making the corner....

mine looks just like the guards in the model index... do you have any extra holes?

Yeah, there are a couple of extra holes-looks like it was a replacement, they did a great job though.

I forgot I already had a black pickguard on the way...
doesn't look like it will be too bad to modify... we'll see...

I just ordered all the electronics needed for this and my "corsair" project...

looking at the wiring that came with this one, some of it wasn't even soldered. Just twisted around... and the knob was missing from the 3-way, so a copper bullet tip (7.62) had been tapped to fit :)

Wanted to post a pic of the headstock on the 2253wc that was trashed, should have gotten a picture prior to stripping. All hail McBrat-the logo and trc look great. Thought about using a different Electra logo, but original is always best option if possible.
