I went ahead with a bid on this one....I like the looks of the old style MPC.

Interesting to compare the backs on two X340's, will probably repeat this in the Main Forum, but here is the back of the guitar you're bidding on (good luck man):

and here's the back of a later wave headstock example:

The MPC hatch on the early one is held in at the diagonals (with thumbscrews?), the later version sports the trademark hinged cover. Check out the space between the two covers on both models, on the 2nd picture the covers are basically parallel to each other and closer together than on the first guitar. Interesting to me, possibly boring to others... thanks, Mike.

This one is exactly like the one I recently purchased with the exception that this one has the original pups still in it. The MPC cover is interesting but a bit hard to change the MPC modules as the cover must be removed to do so. If you just loosen one side and try it the cover still falls off. Once you play with it for awhile then it becomes very clear why they went to the hinged type on later models. Plays exceptionally well and well balanced also. this one looks nice. Like mine also for some reason the finish at the electra logo seems to be a little foggy same as mine so must have been a finish issue. Solid but hazy. Looks great and I wish you luck. :up:

Ha... includes an MPC6 module! A somewhat rare and interesting module.

Good comparison between early and later MPC covers.

Guitar looks nice. Good luck w/ the auction.

This is the first one I've seen with the take off MPC cover; had no idea it even existed.

It must be a very early model and should make it a real collector;

One can learn something new every day.

Congratulations!

I just got an X330 with a wave headstock but the MPC cover was also a screw on - Converted now to my patented clear lucite hinged cover.

I'm curious about MPC6. Does the envelope/trigger filter produce any good Jerry Garcia/Warren Haynes Shakedown Street type sounds??? Can you describe it when you get it JD?

From the auction description, I think I'll have to work on it a bit before it'll work like it should. But, yep....I may even post a video if it's different enough.

Did anyone have an idea what the other module is?

Congrats on the score. These type screw covers take some getting used to and also take more time to switch modules. I understand why they went to the hinged covers after playing the one I have. Guitar has an awesome sound and great tone from the wood.Looks like a nice one indeed. The filter follower is neat but takes a little trial and error to get used to. :up:
