Found this interesting. Looks to have the supercharger knobs on this vulcan. Were any of the X950 models offered with the supercharger option. No pics of the pots or inside cavity listed so not certain on this one. Has the extra switch and looks nice but a bit on the pricey side. Comes with a case but not original case. Any ideas or comments on this one. :look: :look:

Hey Arthur...I've never heard of a supercharged 950. Interesting, but I don't think what's there is worth the additional 400 bucks. No mention of modules so there probably isn't any.

I agree. I know that the supercharger option was offered at some time on MPC models so there is a chance that the original owner purchased the option. I have never seen that option installed on a X950 before, mostly X330's or X320's when you see that option installed. I have never owned one with option installed but I believe a forum member has one. It would be interesting to know if it has any significant impact on the tone with that option. My opinion is it was just an additional item if you wanted to pay extra and offered little but I have not played or heard one so do not know. I have also seen models with the supercharger labels added to current control knobs just to bump up the asking price. Only way to confirm is to get a photo of the Big Orange Caps added to the control pots inside the control cavity. This is a nice example but I purchased a near mint beauty with case for less than this. These models play extreamly well and sound great and look awesome with all the attention to detail and added trim etc. I love the necks on these models. :love: 8)

Way too much money and way too few pictures. I can't detect any benefit to the "supercharge". If it does anything, it's very subtle.

I think it may just be as advertised as a supercharged model;

Unless they found a set and just put the "Supercharged" stickers on the control knobs -

which they could have done;

The stickers came with the kit - and they would be rare to find;

I thought the stickers looked funky on the control knobs so I just stuck them on the back on the MPC door.

Thanks Arthur;

I have a Gibson TP-6 fune tuner tailpiece installed on each of my X340 and X330:

Image

Years ago I ordered a St Louis Music brass replacement bridge replacement which is installed on the X340 -

So it has the brass nut, brass bridge, and the brass ingot sustain plate under bridge -

and talk about sustain - it definitely has it - also used with the on board compressor.

I saw a brass bridge on a newer Electra which I had to have, so I ordered one.

I gave the gold stop tailpiece to a friend who needed a newer looking one on his X935.

I still have the chrome tailpiece - relatively new and unused - from the X330.
