On my tele project, I want to lower my action a little, but the neck pup is adjusted to the lowest I can because of the screw length.

I picked up some 3mm, but they must me 3.5mm...
and the pitch is different too...

I picked up some small SAE ones that are slightly bigger and would be easy to tap to the bigger size...

Yeah, a single coil (in the bridge) has a real hard time keeping up with a humbucker in the neck position. Remember that the strings vibrate more farther away from the bridge, so its a double whammy. I ended up mounting my neck humbucker directly to the wood on 'Buck Owens' and finally got a blend between the two pickups... which means I should have the screws lying around... somewhere... although they're probably not going to be any longer than the ones you have already. I'll take a look around. Maybe a shim in the neck pocket would help... I had to put one in my project before the action was acceptable. Mike.

sorry, I meant the bridge single coil!
I've got some slightly longer 3.5mm screws coming, so we'll see...

I adjusted it off the end of te srew, so figure I may as well replace them while I take the bridge off to put the springs back in....

I used some 4-40 1.25" from Home Depot for my X330. They seemed to do the job just fine. I don't remember them being too tight or being scared of forcing them.

Yeah, but they're not metric, so the whole "authentic Japanese Feng shui tone" is ruined! You simply MUST use metric hardware on these guitars...

I shall remedy the situation with alacrity!

uh oh. I used CTS pots, switchcrafts switches and jack... I'm doomed....

I remember going through all my pup mounting screws and nothing fit. I ended up bringing the remaining one to the store with me and gettting as close as I could by eye. I was thinking I might have to resort to getting the right height and permanently setting it with nuts on either side of the mounting tab - or one nut and some Krazy glue - but the 4-40's seem to be doing the job.

that did the trick! i splurged and put 4-40 1" stainless ones in pan head slotted. they match the pup pole pieces...

Nice! I also recently discovered that some arch top pickguard mounting brackets have the just about correct double bend in them for LP types, Vulcans, etc. I like it when replacement stuff actually works and looks right too!

Yeah. On the later longneckers the fender replacement ashtray and pup cover fit perfectly...
