What is the model number on this Omega? I was guessing X230 but it has no maple fretboard and it doesn't look like 5 way tone spectrum switch. Were the older open book ones different that the one in the index of models? http://hudsonvalley.craigslist.org/msg/2456003282.html

Because of the rosewood fretboard and trapezoid markers this was either a X220 (Sunburst) or X240 (Antique Sunburst) Omega Originally. The X230 blond would have had a Maple Fretboard and Black markers:

I saw this ad too, and thought something was up, but didn't look closely until your post came up. The flame tops are super thin (like 1/64th of an inch) and any kind of sanding results in total destruction of the maple veneer. It looks to me like the whole guitar has been stripped, the control covers are missing and the tiny pictures are so lame I can't tell what is going on with the electronics. Seller isn't asking a lot, so maybe its worth a try, but purists would probably want to stay clear of this one... just my two cents. Mike.

I agree Pro and that was why I opted not to pursue it. Looks like it has been thru the ringer and modded etc. It would take a labor of love to bring this one back but it could be done. Some of the Omega models did have a 3 way as an option to the 5 way. The tops are indeed very thin but look nice.I woulod also opt to pass on this one.

There seems to be no pickup selector switch at all. Looks like someone started to do a LP conversion and stopped. If someone happens to have a tone spectrum switch lying around, this looks like a pretty decent deal.

I was thinking about this guitar having a refinish when things were not lining up. Thanks for your input guys.
