I'm a mediocre classic rock guitarist, and I want to get better at "chicken pickin" licks. With my family and schedule, lessons are off the table, so the DVD route is the best way to go for me. It looks like there's a lot of instructional videos. Anyone here have any experience?

I have had good experience with the Next Level Guitar website and videos. The guy is thorough and explains things in an easy to understand manner. It really all depends on your level though. I have seen reviews from very experienced players who say this does nothing for them.

Guitar world Mag. John 5 has been covering chicken picken in a few lessons. The format has changed a bit the last few months. Now you dont get a cd in the news stand or sub books any more. Every thing is on line. Tons of lessons, tech stuff and cool interviews. Subscribe if you plan to buy more than 4 books a year (after my purchuse today I got the OK from my wife) $8.00 bucks an issue gets steep.

Try this,

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to try some of Doug Seven's "Sizzling Guitar Licks"

I'll let you know what I think when I've had a chance to check out the DVD!
