Yet another original clean X420VS custom Pro is on the bay. Very nice looking model with original clear pic guard. Bet this one goes into orbital price range but hope some forum member can score it. These do not come along often and this one is nice also. :look: :look: :look: :look: 8) :look: :look: :look:

:D Believe it or not....I threw a bid on that one. I probably won't chase it too hard though. It's gonna be interesting to keep an eye on this one.

Go Go Jead.

No competition from me on this one much as I am tempted. Still licking my wounds over this, (and probably will for a while...)

It looked locked up... oh he!!, it was locked up for about 18 hours and then all went sideways.

Here's another Pantera Iceman:

I've seen this guitar but not played it. I will say that it's in very nice condition - one of the best I've seen. The seller is an upright guy too and is a member here. With the case (also very nice) it's a pretty darn good deal.

I just bought a Gibson Doves In Flight, I'm out of the auction game for a few months.

Except for the natural Omega!

Well, if we can see our individual ways to get to the 1st WestoneFest that Arthur is drumming up support for over there you just might get your opportunity to play it then. :D

Dana is shore 'nuff an upright citizen and that's no lie. It is a very nice axe, he has a thread posted there detailing the refinish/repair he did and it is A1 AFAIC.

An x275 is just simply not in the same league as an x390 but.... It'll do, Jead,.... It'll do.

Yikes!! Sorry if I'm hijacking abit. Back to this x420vs...

$635 with 4+ days to run???? Hope nobody is smackin' and whackin' each other here.

What's a reasonable estimate on value, other than what someone is willing to pay obviously?

I gotta disagree on thinking this is a good deal. It's missing a chunk off the headstock and has naill polish on the horn as a workaround to refinishing it proper. Don;t get me wrong, he did a decent job making it look nice, but that price is way over it's value IMO. An X275 in great condition should not be confused with the high end Panteras. X275 in great shape - maybe $250? Anything higher and the seller is getting a great deal

The 420 is a sweet looking guitar. Is it considered a higher end guitar than the 410? Or just different?

This is the same guitar as the X420 but just in the much rarer VS Vintage sunburst finish. These in this color are very hard to find indeed and this is the first time I have ever seen 2 come up within weeks of each other. I have been searching for some time and they are a tough onr to find and the price reflects this fact indeed. Great Axes  8)

The X410 (Jazz Strad) is more like the Burgundy Pro, Maple Pro, and Elvin era semi's with the soundholes. The X420 (and X420vs) would be the last of the Semi Hollows made by Electra, late 1982 through 1983. No soundholes, controls in a different pattern, and that curious service cutout on the back which I always thought were for the push/pulls built into the tone pots, but I'm finding that some of these did not have push/pulls... Anyway you slice it, they're a fraction of what you'd pay for a 70's Gibson Semi, and in most instances a better playing guitar than those era Gibby's. Just my two cents.

According to the seller this one doesn't have push pulls.

This one DOES have push/pull tone pots.

So that's it, Mike. The later VS models have it and the earlier 420's don't.
