A true curiosity there... There are no walnut/maple laminated necks in the Electra line that I can think of (off the top of my head), although Aria and Washburn were marketing them in that time frame. I think we could have another prototype 'production example' here.

Guitar has changed tuners, cool 'Starsky and Hutch' paintjob and some condition issues with the neck. Price is a little shall we say 'optimistic', but who knows, maybe someone will bite.

Check out this topic here for other workingman variations:

Is Tom Presley still checking in? Would love to hear his take on this unusual find. Cheers, Mike.

Too bad about the logo... is there anything you could whip up with your vinyl machine McB? And it's Really too bad about the neck damage, even if the seller says it's stabilized now. Still would like to know more about this one. The Lamination looks alot like my Falcon, which even the Washburn Forum can't agree where they were made. Body is almost definitely a Workingman with the one-and-a-half cutaway, bevelled front and pickup switch location.

Anybody else tempted by this one..? I may have to contact the seller and see how firm he is on the price, unless someone else here is watching it too..? Mike.

P.S. The Starsky and Hutch paint job is growing on me.

I don't think I've ever seen a laminated neck break like that - they're usually very strong. I know the tuners were changed but I can't identify the set that's on there - at first I thought they were Pings but I doubt it and really have no clue. If that's a custom paint job, I wonder what the control cavity shows. I wonder where the wave neck came from. It sure is different.
Good luck on it Mike.

Was that a Factory available paintjob or was it just a custom thing on the TV show??

P.S. I love the dangling license plate on the back!
