Well I do not know what a low baller is in the orbital range. To rich for my blood for certain no matter how rare or minty. I have waited this long so I can continue to wait until one falls out of his orbital range.

$1400??? Well, maybe if Prince owned it... The seller seems a bit full of himself. Good luck to any and all who try to deal with this character!

This may be the fellow who posted his 910 here a bit earlier and got kinda angry at some of us, me included. Seems like that one was in great shape also, just needed a bit of electrical restoration.

I'd like to see some pictures - but I'm not even going to ask for any. I'm too much of a lowballer to get involved.

Just made a ridiculous trade/cash offer for the Derringer... seller seems intrigued. You'll know if I can seal the deal by the end of the weekend... Somebody talk me out of this one, Mike.

I emailed a request for some pics or a link.....here's the response I recieved:

"dont have any yet, camera has been acting odd, are you interested in
buying or just peeping?"

Peeping, I suspect. I'm a "peeper".

Hope you can get it.

Sheesh - I guess that would make me a lowballin' peeper. FWIW the camera may not be the only thing acting odd.
Careful and Good Luck Mike.

Yeah, I'm not getting a warm fuzzy feeling from this 'Kid'... sounds about 21 (maybe younger), still haven't seen a photo yet either. I've sent him links and pics to all the stuff I've offered and 24 hours into negotiations still haven't seen the item HE IS LISTING.

This morning I wake up to a email saying that he still thinking, but another $100 (on top of what I've offered) would help him decide. F'ing grow up dude. His mantra is "I know what this guitar is worth", and he repeats it often. Only one has sold on ebay in the last three years that I know of, so NOBODY knows what they are worth!

I made him a very nice gear/cash offer, borderline insane. I hate the negotiating, it's a stupid back and forth game that some people love to play though. It's over two hours drive out there, and I'm this close to telling him to go suckle his mommy. Mike out.

My offer, if as described, would have been a cool grand, shipped and insured. I didn't even make an offer because I was just "peepin", anyway. He's a bit nuts on the asking price, I think. A grand is on the high side. I don't get the feeling that this fellow can be trusted to settle in a timely manner...or fairly...should there be shipping damage from lousy packaging.

This guitar is gonna have to be packed extremely well, both inside the hardcase and in the shipping box...to protect that headstock. I suspect he has no idea about this inherent weakness in that particular guitar.

I would want to use PayPal if I couldn't have someone locally grab it for me. At least there would be some assurance against some of the things that could happen.

Anybody near Grand Rapids that could offer to assist those from afar?

A 4 hour round trip would be a small price to pay for this guitar. I get your meaning that he won't commit though.

I could almost guarantee that not only would he not accept $1000, he would make a point of some how insulting you as he declines the offer. I should just walk away and give him the silent treatment.

The value in this guitar is it's rarity (in my humble opinion). I have not played one, so I can't comment on its playing style or sound. I would bet a months rent that it doesn't play or sound any better than an Electra SemiHollow. Most of the benefit of owning one is in the Bragging Rights, or possibly investment, but as a player, frankly I don't think it would see much play time. The one and only X910 sale I know of in the past three years is that 'well loved' one last year which went for 8 Bills. There have been other sales for sure, and having those numbers would help, but what are you gonna do?

My offer is very generous I believe, I'll tell you what it was when the deal goes down... or completely melts down, Mike.

(currently give it a 33% chance of success)
