Hello everyone,
I am selling my 1976 X410 Jazz Strad. If you want to see pictures, just click on the X410 icon at this website. It is all original (except a new nut made by famous luthier, Mr. Del Langejans, maker of Langejans guitars) with the usual gold wear and some button worming on the backside. Button worming is not through the finish and you can only see it by tilting the guitar sideways, glaring against the light. No issues, absolutely excellent frets, as it has had very little time on it. Excellent intonation and no fret outs on the neck. It is one sweet playing and sounding lady! Also it has the rare Gibson-like open book headstock and trapeze tail piece.

$999.99 - you pay shipping and insurance. USA only. Payment by postal money order or cashier's check from bank. Contact me through Facebook, personal message - Dan Taylor. I have a picture of a silver grey 77 GMC Vandura as my photo. Serious inquiries only please. Thank you.

Hey Dan,

I am really surprised that you have not had any luck with that one yet. I had my eye closely on yours when you had listed it on Craigslist in your area but then found one in Wisconsin before contacting you.

I certainly hope your luck is better here. I know that the really appreciative potential buyers can be found here. It is a wonderful instrument.

Good luck!

Thanks. May I ask if the one you bought was nicer than mine? How much did you pay, if you do not mind me asking that too.

Here is a link to the thread that was posted about it.

viewtopic.php?f=35&t=5682

Is it a better example? I could only answer that by having both in hand I guess... I do feel mine (whoops... my wife's) is the nicest build I have ever seen.

I will opine that in comparison to what I paid it could be stated that you are being a tad optimistic given the ecomony right now.

Hey Dan...the average selling price seems to be about 800 bucks, with a low of 473.00 and high of 1160.00.

Today's market may be tough to bring 800 bills. These guitars are Electra's finest semihollows in my opinion....I've owned two of them.

You'd have been lucky with that one at twice that price. VERY GOOD score.

Guess what? I sold my Electra X410 Jazz Strad! A guy from New York bought it. He paid my asking price - $1,000.00, plus shipping, handling and insurance. He did not even hint of trying to talk me down. :)

Good for you Dan.

Glad to hear you finally got your buyer. I know quite a few who have not been able to be as patient as you and settled for less.

At first I was curious if you had finally listed it on ebay (or had you done that once before?), and gotten better that you were hoping for.
That one went for $1247.00 a few days ago... but then I remembered your axe had the original tuners and the one that sold did not.

In any case, congratulations on your sale. :D

Iceman,
Thanks bro. I did not want to list the guitar on eBay because of all the fees. The guy who bought it was surfing Craig's list from state to state. I received the email and first was suspicious, but I called his cell and left a message. He called back and said he would deposit the money pronto. All worked out just great! The postal person should be picking it up in 1 hour to deliver it by Priority mail. I do believe this guy is very wealthy. He is getting one sweet X410 with a perfect neck and hardly no fret wear at all. I hardly played the guitar. Just took it out from time to time to keep an eye on her and play it a while. Now I have to sell a few more guitars to lighten the load or thin the herd as most say.

I just took a look at the Electra X410 that sold recently on eBay. Mine has a flame maple top and back, original tuners and the original case. Maybe I could have gotten more on eBay? Oh well...I think I did well and am happy. I bought that guitar at a pawn shop back in 2/9/87 in Grand Rapids, MI for the steal price of $135.20. Nobody (including me) was aware of the high quality of Electra guitars at the time. I just saw it and fell in love with it. I went home and asked my Aunt if she could loan me the money until I got my tax returns. She cut me a check. I beat feet directly after work to the bank and back to the pawn shop. Best deal I ever got!

Prices can vary quite a bit. Personally, I think the $1200 for the one just sold was really pretty much on the high side. I thought it might reach in the $800 range. I didn't check but I bet there was a bit of a bidding war on that guitar.

I attend to agree with you on this.

@ Jead: It was a minor bidding war, but the winner was a sniper with a 6-feedback, his only bid with 8 seconds remaining.

@ Dan: $135.20. !?!?!? Was that a normal price back in '87 or did you know the guy?

I just got a good deal. The guy who sold it to me at the pawn shop probably was in a good mood that day. :D

$ 1,200 may be a tad high however there is one currently for sale at GC Vintage room for $ 1,199. I own one and have to say it is my best sounding/playing guitar at any price.
