I've seen a couple Electra's with the wider Harmonica type bridge, but I always thought they were modded... I may need to change my theory now. I don't think I've seen one in a catalog, but this is a retail marked SLM package with peacesign logo, so they do exist. Never stop observing and learning I guess.

is that considered an upgrade to what we normally see on them? or is just a different style for aesthetics?

Does anyone know what models this bridge was used on? I may be bidding on it as I may have use for it.

Thanks!

I always thought they were aftermarket Gibson knock-offs. I've seen them before on Electra's but can't recall a style or model it was on.

I've never seen it on a guitar in a catalog... now someone will probably point one out though. It may very well have metric or otherwise unique width spacing, so I can't help you as far as what it would fit on.

You should only need that much travel if the bridge posts were put in the wrong place if you ask me, and the Japanese are legendary for their precision. The argument could be made that it has more mass and 'different' sustain properties I suppose, although I wonder if you'd have to change the stop tailpiece height because of the wider bridge. I like to have lots of down force on the bridge, or as low a stoptail as I can.

In any event it is a curiosity, and looks reasonably priced so far... Mike.

Thanks JD - I was starting to doubt that I had actually seen an Electra with that bridge.

Well if anyone has questions I scored this one and will use it as a giveaway item for Electrafest 2012. I am not going to open it when it arrives but I can and will take some better pics and post them. I thought it was a neat item and would be a great giveaway item. I apologize for not getting the items won out yet but I have been under the weather for about 2 wks or so but went back to VA doc today and I am back up and moving again so I will get them out ASAP and notify all when they ship. Sorry for the delay in shipping. Thanks :hyper:

I was going to bid on it in the end as wel Arthur but entered an area with spotty 3G coverage in the last minute. Good thing as I was thinking of putting $60.00 on it.

As far as ElerctraFest '11 drawing items did everyone make their choices now? I was just curious as everyone knows by now I was picking 6th of 6 entries so my choice would have been made for me then...

Good to hear you are on the mend. Stay well !!
