Here are some pics of my PCM Electras. I just picked up the Red Bass yesterday locally and I have had his brother the Guitar for some time. How do I classify these since there were no model numbers on these early ones?

Very nice group you have there. Nice condition on all of them. The early PCM models can be hard to ID sometimes as they were more vague in description and leterature. Most I have seen usually go by the SLM electra model numbers(SG models and so on) but the early ones like this pair were not so much the same. I have seen early models listed as Apollo etc but nothing on this pair. Thanks for the pictures they look great. 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

Try and take a look here and see what you think. http://www.rivercityamps.com/electrapag ... category=2
Scroll all the way down to bottom to Apollo listings.

Congrats, those are some rare birds there, especially the Bass. I've never seen one before.

Arthur - I looked at the Apollo stuff on that topic in the webpage but it seems as if this Bass and guitar are a little earlier. The only stuff I remember on these guitars was in this discussion: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=4295

The red bass I had not seen before either but there is a blurb on the Index of Models page about an unknown PCM Red Bass. Maybe this is what was referenced. Also the PCM guitar in the above topic is in red like my Bass. I wonder if they made the Bass in the same Sunburst as my guitar?

The PCM guitar and Bass are in exceptional shape for being 40 years old. The only small issue is with the old sliding selector switches and I will work with them with some contact cleaner. My Ric copy bass is in great shape also but my white Futura has a bit of mojo on the horns.

The Guitar looks similar to an old Teisco Del Ray that I was given back in the late 60's.

It also looks a lot better; mine was a dog with 4 pickups, several slide controls, and a warped neck;

Virtually a non player -

I hope yours plays better than that one did.

Most of the PCM models it seems had little or no advertisements or info out on them. I guess the PCM brother was a little tighter with the ad and catalog money. Great collection of nice ones you have. :up: :up: :up:
