This one is interesting. I guess that Electra guitars must be getting noticed now. I have never seen anything close to this one before in the Electra line SLM or PCM. Has the early electra badge but the headstock is a little questionable i think. This has early model body much like Apollo or maybe Univox models but has the wave style headstock from uncle mat so go figure.At this price I suspect a knock off is more like it. A hodge podge of parts from cheap junk put together and placed a Electra logo on. The components and the years just don't look correct to me. What say ye all. Maybe it's the holy grail of Electras and we should all race down and plop down the cash before it is gone for good.

I am not convinced that it is an Electra yet.

Pros: Electronics look similar to some early PCM Electras
Tobacco finish reminds me of the violin bass that Mcbrat sold recently

Cons: The headstock doesn't look right
The Electra logo plate on most of those goes straight across not slanted like this one.
$800.00 is way too much for this even if it is a one off.

I give it about a 28% chance of it being legit. The neck doesn't even looked centered on the body at the heal... The auction text reads like a Used Car Salesman brochure. Needless to say the starting bid is insane. A curiosity is the best I can offer.

Looking closely at back view, the neck joint appears to have a offset "shelf" so it was made off-centered -- I have never seen this body shape before on any MIJ guitar --- I don't know about the Electra badge, but I'm inclined to think its not a parts guitar

The pickups and neck are screaming Kawai/Teisco. What looks like the neck plate on the back is just a cover. Once that is off, there is a neck plate 2-3 inches deeper. I've seen/had a Kawai hollowbody with similar construction, just not that shape.

And then I realized that at the time I didn't want it either -

It may have been worth something now ......... but still unplayable - and still butt ugly.

The logo alone on the head stock just didnt look right. Like the logo its self is off center. Looks like it has been stuck on, see the shadow under the logo?

lots of the PCM ones looked that way...
as the logo was screen printed onto the Aluminum polygon, and then it was slapped onto the headstock of whatever they ordered....

I have too many projects!

It still dont look right to me, I know at some point all the early models (electra, teisco, aria ect.) cross over with electronics, bodys and necks but it just doesnt fit the mold. We have seen stranger things here but this one just looks out off place.

Somebody snagged it up, maybe they could bring it to EF2012?

That headstock decal looks like it was cut out from a catalog and just stuck on there.
