Nice clean example of the X290 Model on the bay. Has what looks to be original or same type case as original. Appears to be complete and stock. :look: :look: :look: :look:

Nice players and it looks like an upgraded case from the chipboard one mine came with.

I'm in on this one, but my bank account says "it must be a really good deal".

Been keeping an eye on this one, so pretty. Can't buy it, but keeping an eye on it anyway! :D

How do these things sound in person? Are they "bright", "heavy", "twangy", "bell like tones", etc.?

These have a very nice resonant tone. They can scream with the best of them but also have a deeper warm tone as well. They will not dissappoint any player.

I still like to compare them to SG's. I'd say on the heavier side. Much more Gibson than Fender to my ears. I like these a lot for the money and I can be sort of a set neck snob. VG resonance as Mortarman said. Big frets make these easy to play, not exceedingly heavy, but still a substantial chunk o wood. Mine weighs in at 7 lbs 15 oz. Nice no nonsense, no frills guitar. I like the 3 way down by the control pots too. I've had an X280 and 2 different X290's - all of them were louder than average unplugged and you can feel the body resonate so there's a real good transfer going on there.

I've never seen one with the metal s/n sticker or the Electra neck plate - Seems like it's more common to see the MIJ Steel Adjustable Neck - Made In Japan - S/N plate.

I'm gigging a little now, and my main guitar (78 Gibson RD Artist) is sooo heavy. It's a killer axe, but by the middle of the 3rd set my shoulder is toast and I'm using a nice fat Levy's strap too.

I was going to get my 2275 re-fretted, but it's $300 so I'm looking to find a deal on a different Electra.

I've been considering spending more and going with a Proendorser, but a I'm guessing they are on the heavy side too.

Thanks for the reviews guys, good job detailing what they feel and sound like! That's what I'm talking about, descriptions that are actually worth something rather than "I love mine, you'll like it too"

I've been eyeing them up for a while now, and although I can't get this one, I will in future for sure! Just gotta let the waters even out for a while, since I'd bought a Peavey Vandenberg without my Wife's expressed consent... :o She were'nt happy none. Can't imagine why! :D

Endorsers are usually between 8.5 and 9.5 lbs., they have small neck profiles that I really like, although some people may not prefer. Their versatility is outstanding with eight pickup sounds available. Here's a video of mine:

The Cherry Sunburst models are particularly good looking guitars:

I have an early (January 1980) Mahogany X260 Invicta that is under 7 pounds, it has become my new Live guitar. I can't say that all the Invictas are that light, as the construction method and materials changed after around April of 1980. They are good values and you can sometimes nab one of these setneck beauties for under $350.

The Workingmen are excellent bang for the buck too. The MMK's in them only have two leads so they can't be wired for coil split or phase without some delicate surgery to the pickups, and the pickups are unwaxed so if you play overdriven or relatively loud, you're going to have some squealing issues on stage... just an observation. Patience can be a virtue when it comes to stage guitars, although with these Electra's you can always try them out without breaking the bank, and when you resell you're probably only out the shipping cost, which is a inexpensive rental fee for the knowledge and experience gained... just my two cents, Mike.

:hyper: Why did you have to go and do that?! That's my favorite Electra, the sunburst and the transparent black one. It hurts to see because it's so pretty. :bawl:
