Looks like they tried to mod the Headstock - and did it poorly. Look at the size of the top two tuner holes.
Such a pretty guitar to muck it up, but if someone could make a new headstock, it may be worth a go.

Yea but the heastock is just the damage you can see. I would not buy this without a personal inspection.

I'm waiting on some info from the seller. I want to fix this one. It all depends on the info I get back.

I'm pretty torn on this. I know I could fix the headstock but the finish looks......difficult. 5 ply binding on the headstock is also no piece of cake. If it was hands down a maple pro I might go for it but there seems to be something going on that makes me think this was an antique burst. I think I'm a little afraid and something tells me I should walk away. :-?

Trust your instincts on this one I think. I would not care to take a chance on this one.

That's the sound of a hammer hitting a nail right on the head. I prefer that sound a lot more than the sound a hammer makes when it hits my head - which is probably what I would do to myself if I bought it.... so I have officially passed on this one. It was a close call for me but in the end, it was too much moolah and that voice in my head won out.

Workingman and mortarman both talking me down from the EGAS ledge. Wonders never cease!
