I grabbed this one recently, serial number 005155, made in May of 1980 and 157 clicks from the Sunburst one that Jead just picked up. Totally original, excellent set of MMK 45's, very nice shape... I thought it was going to replace the FrankInvicta I got from Ozark, but no dice! It's a full 9lbs and too nice for me to play out. Tell me what you think. Back is NICE with some buckle rash, but nothing through the clear coat, dig the all Mahogany Neck:

Front is clean with only a handful of flea bites:

Has the obligatory chips on the Headstock, this is the absolute worst chip on the guitar, nothing else is through the clearcoat:

Has a finish-only crack at the neck joint, which you kind of see in this shot. If you've ever seen the screw into the neck tenon in the pickup route, you know these necks are not going anywhere, this is strictly cosmetic, and common. Love the dark wood of the Mahogany body and Neck:

One last parting shot of this beauty, I'm thinking $350 shipped, $375 shipped with a beatup case (the one my Flameback Endorser came in). One of these went for 4 Bills before shipping on the bay recently as a comparison. I can't justify having two of these, and she's real purty. PM if intrigued, Cheers, Mike.

Looks like a nice one Mike - and at a reasonable price too. Good luck!

This one has some visible fret-wear on the first seven frets, and could benefit from a fret dressing. I've been playing it for weeks now, and I haven't heard any terrible intonation or bending issues though. These 80's frets are huge, and can be dressed down a number of times. I own and use guitars in worse shape, but in complete disclosure, yeah, its been played generously. If you heard the pickups through a Tube amp, you'll know why though! This guitar sounds gooood.

Last admission is that the action could be lower. I'm a real wuss when it comes to truss rod adjusting, so I haven't touched it. I have a nibble already, and I would like to ship before the holidays, so if you're interested, drop me a line people.

Hope you can move it soon then, Mike. I would love to take it off your hands but I have another axe/amp deal brewing for 3 & 1/2 I need to see to the end at this time.

Good luck man! It looks very tempting and the sustain is top shelf, or so I have read...

Good for you! It stays in the E-family then too? I agree it's better than (gre)E(d)BAY.

SOLD

The new owner also talked me into selling another rare piece to him... I'll let him make the announcement when they show up on his Georgia front porch! Mike.

You guessed it alright. I confess that my egas is rampant. I scored that beauty from Mike and managed to talk him out of his awesome jacarunda LP proto type as well. Thanks Mike for allowing me to own these 2 beauties. Will post pics when they arrive if I can survive the egas.

Make that a double, Arthur. For those of you who do not keep up at the Westone site, well....

Let's just say Mortarman has become quite the Belle 'o the Ball on the ebay section there.

Yeah, I'm a tattletale....... so what ???
