With all due respect to Mitch, in my opinion a clean x810 is going to go north of a grand on ebay. I don't want to get top dollar from a forum member (as long as you intend to keep the guitar... if you plan to re-sell, please don't contact me via this forum), but I don't want to lose money. I paid a bit over $800 for this guitar.

Issues (see photos):
Strap pin added by previous owner.
Scratch (through the finish) that has been filled near lower strap pin.
Chip on the side of the headstock.
    Minor scuffs/buckle rash.
Minor oxidation on tailpiece and bridge

Good stuff (see photos):
This is a BEAUTIFUL rockstar guitar!
    Everything works.
Frets show some wear, but plenty of life left.

That is a very good looking axe. A few questions that pop to mind....

Are you the only owner? If not could you give me a history of the guitar as far as you know? Not wanting to lose any money on it is a given, but you are aware of the economic climate of course at this time. I also noticed the screw holes in the top, do you have the pickguard for it still? Also, does it come with it's case?

Thanks for the pics. I really doubt anyone here would buy it just to flip it, I know I wouldn't.

Thanks for the questions!

No, I am not the original owner. Unfortunately, I do not have a history about how many previous owners this guitar might have had before I purchased it. I bought this guitar about 3 years ago along with another x810 (EGAS abounds) within a few months of each other with the intent of deciding which I liked better. The one I am keeping is actually in worse condition (scratches, frets, etc.), but for some reason I like the finish and tone of that one more than the one I am selling.

And good point re: the economy... my feelings won't be hurt if I overpaid and can't make what I need to make here. I just wanted to give folks on the forum first shot before turning to ebay, where we've been seeing some real craziness as the holidays approach. The most 'recent' (April and Nov. 2010) x810s (that I'm aware of) sold for ~$1300 and ~$700. The forum spreadsheet also shows a sunburst selling for ~$1000, but there doesn't seem to be a date on that one. Other than the one Mitch is trying to move, I haven't been aware of others available for sale in recent years. I really don't want to get top dollar from a forum member, but I can't afford to take a loss (I don't know I'd say that should be a given, but thank you for the kind words to that effect!).

Pickguard / Case: The guitar came with neither (it came with a soft case). Although I would recommend the buyer find a higher end case for the guitar, I suppose could include the one that came with my Jazz Strad (it's not pretty, but I've been storing the x810 in that case because the Jazz Strad is out all the time). Similar answer for the pickguard... I have a clear one from the other x810 that fits, although I do not have the screws or a mounting bracket.

Again, thanks for asking good questions. If anyone else has questions about the condition of my guitar, please feel free to post them here so everyone can see (I'm not a guitar tech, but will do my best to provide helpful answers). That said, I'm also happy to continue private dialogs via PM.

PS... the Leslie West is supposed to arrive on the 7th!!!

So to recap the important stuff we now know...

An x410, two x810's, a Leslie West in transit, correct?????

WOW -- WOW -- WOW -- WOW ! ! ! !

How do you find time to play your Howard Roberts without puddin' off the Elvin Bishop or the red-headed stepchild you have in your Herb Ellis model? (insert ROFL smilies that are AWOL here)

LOL... while you're at it, don't forget my x940 (the axe that first lead me to Electra 14 years ago) or the x140 that Jead let me win a year and a half ago.

Wish I could say I have all the other guitars you mentioned, but perhaps at some point in the future. After all, look at all the great EGAS role models we have to look up to in our community... Arthur... Mike... Jead... etc... You'd think that if there were an easy cure for EGAS, someone here would have found it.

Ok, so I just posted my x810 on ebay, but I'll take it down if someone here in the Electra community is really interested. I'm just really hoping to get it sold before the holidays. When Mitch offered his similar axe for sale right after I listed mine, it threw too much uncertainty in the mix for me. I'd really like to keep it in the community, but most of all I just need to move it.

I'm out of the hunt on this, although it's very purdy! For me the MPC feature makes it less desireable, but I want something to play not a collector piece like this.

Ten years ago, when business was kickin', it would be mine!

I don't know... is twenty Electra's excessive? There are at least 5 members here that have more than I do. I thought that X910 would relieve the pressure... but I've bought two since then.

That's one clean X810 sir X940! Nicer than mine, but like the porscheman says, I don't like to worry about dinging a really nice one up (still a rock kid at heart). Even though these listed for more than the 2266 and 2267 (Elvin and Maplepro's), the non-MPC Semi's tend to go for more now. Probably due to most guitarists being conservative and are more comfortable with what they know. I've never measured the back control cover, but it looks identical to the parallelogram ones used on all the MPC guitars, it makes sense that they would use the same part. Good luck, Mike.
