There's some real finish and binding issues going on with this one. I can't see where there's any structural damage though. The vine looks intact. The saddle doesn't look particularly high so if the action is high as the seller states, I'm thinking this might need a neck reset. At any rate this guy seems to have been more neglected than abused. If I were bidding hard for this one I'd prepare myself for some pretty expensive restoration. I'd say it's worth it. Zoom and blow up the pictures if you can. You'll see finish cracks all over and some finish ready to peel right off. A good luthier could save this for sure.

Yep, looks like it was stored poorly. Probably still top $500 I'd guess. I'd take it over that finish stripped Elvin with the gnarly headstock though... I'll pass on both.

My best guess with this one is that it was stored in an are that was not climate controled and went from hot to cold etc. This would explain the cracks in the finish and binding caused by the contraction and expansion of the wood from the changes in temperature. It can be saved by a good luthier that knows how to remove the top finish and re- apply a new one once the wood beneath is stabilized. I do not think it would cause problems in playing as is so long as it finds a good home in an environment that has constant temp and humidity.

As someone who has a house in Michigan that has a basement studio, I can attest to that and admit to previously making that mistake (never again)!

I have seen probably 2 dozen or more listings from this seller in the past 6 months or so and not one of them was for what I would consider close to a "good" condition axe at best.

There always seems to be at least one major issue at least, if not several minor ones as well.

Right on Mike - 511.66 shipped. Too rich for my blood.
