Hi All.
I have a X510 Concert Professional I'm thinking about selling. I dont play it and truth be told, I've never really played it. I picked it up about 15 years ago and it's just been sitting around in the case. The case that came with it was new at the time and is a hard shell with key and lock. Anyway, I would like to sell it but I dont really know what price to ask for it. I've done some research on line so I have an idea, but I would welcome any thoughts. The guitar is in good shape. It has a few character dings but no real damage. I would welcome and suggestions. I can provide pictures upon requests.

Thanks all.
Tom.

Hey Tom....you're a lucky guy in that respect. These are somewhat rare birds. Most seem to have been produced at the Fujigen Gakki Plant and are extremely finely crafted guitars that perforn just as well as they look. I'm surprised that you're not playing it more than you do.

As for value.....I have to mention today's stunted market.....if you want to sell it, I believe that 750.00 will get the job done for you. However, I believe the true value to be in the grand range. Better days will have to come along for that amount though, I think. I have 4 Fujigen HR's, including one Concert Pro.

Love 'em....quite versatile and actually fun. As I mentioned....I have one of these already or I would be dickerin with you myself.

You'd probably get a better value for it in a trade if you care to post for something you'd be more interested in playing. Luck with it.

Thank you jdwhealton, I'm truly grateful for your input. I think I would have played it more, but it just doesn't fit my style of play. I'm more of a heavy handed hack then a graceful guitarist. The whole trapeze bridge thing is hard to get used to :) I'm in the process of getting some photos together. One thing I found kind of odd is that on the back of the head stock, there is an ELECTRA sticker, with the model# X510 literally hand written on it, then the serial # printed (10653). I don’t know if that makes any difference or not. I had noticed on some of the website photos that the serial numbers were actually right in the wood of the head stock and not written on a sticker like mine is.

The foil sticker may denote a later production model since the early ones have the stamped serial numbers.

St Louis Music guitars of the day 1976 - 1985 were produced with either the foil sticker / hand written Model / Serial number

or the engraved (stamped?) in wood serial number on the back of the headstock;

also the X935 models came with a small engraved? SLM anniversary Model / Serial Number plaque that was attached to the back of the middle of the headstock with 2 small phillips screws.

No consistency here .............

There are probably more examples of SLM serial numbers; these are what I am familiar with;

If anyone else needs to add to this please do so.

Sure would like to see some pics of your X510.
