WOW....You dont see Skylarks that often, especially the neck thru-(ive been looking for one of those for over 10 years to complete my set)....and to see them all together ? Unheard of. A little pricey, but I suppose thats due to the seller letting them go as a set.....notice the auction didnt even dwell on the condition of the guitars other than a very short sentence....thats what RARE is all about....someone got a nice post christmas present

Guilty.... but it was a crime that was totally worth it.

I still wonder if my offer was too high but the deed is done now regardless. Had I been abit more observant I might have chanced waiting and calling and discuss buying them directly from him rather than through the evil one. The seller (JT) is somewhat local, owns the Music Go Round in Maple Grove, MN and is a member, albeit infrequent, over at the Mats forums.

Even though I made the offer within 3 hours of him listing it, he did share with me he had several contacts about splitting up the set in that short time frame. No interest in the 2612 at all which was ironic to him. It does have the majority share of mojo of the three (about 97% actually), but was the most difficult for him to track down.

For an entry-level model it would be almost unbelievable how well that 2612 plays and sustains if I were not familiar with the overall superior quality of our dear Uncle's guitars.

So anyway, these should tide me over for me 'til I run across my x910, x250 and Elvin.

Congrats on a fine set. Great score as you never see them all together.

Thank you Arthur.

Coming from THE EGAS KING I humbly accept your kind words. (insert LOL here) As a brief aside after I broke the news to my lovely bride I prefaced it with a comment about how I felt I might have been looking in too many directions as of late as guitars go.

Her reply (and I am not kidding here either), "At least your not as bad as that Arthur dude."

Appreciate the cover fire, brah. I owe you a solid one.

No disrespect intended to anyone but..... That's just funny. I don't laugh out loud too often but that cracked me up.

Ice, looks like all you have to do to keep peace in the family is get your bride an unbelievably nice axe every 6 months or so. A small price to pay as I see it.

Ah well then just let her gander at my last post on my egas aquistions and then she will forget all about how many you score. My wife is great as she only gripes now and again and then she just does it to poke at me. I am a luck man indeed.

That trans blue finish is still one of my favorite finishes on a Mats guitar. Wish it existed on more than one model. Congrats on the purchase, Ice!

Thanks man! Too bad we only have ElectraFest (and hopefully WestoneFest) over here in the States. I could pack them along if I ever could make it to one, except they are neither brand. (Insert crying smiley here)

Oh... and @ Arthur:

Taken as a whole, I am beginning to suspect my wife is actually not all that upset over me buying guitars that she ends up playing for the most part.

Naaah, can't be...
