Where do y'all find tuners that either match the stock LP-type tuners or that don't require any drilling or mods?

There are several sources and several different tuners used over the years. If you post a picture, we will try and point you in the right direction

Sorry to be a pain but a close up would be more helpful. Nice looking guitar BTW (at least from the back).

A single replacement for the one would be nice, but if I have to buy a set, I want to find a set that will not need hole reaming or new holes drilled, ya know?

Those are a bit odd. I am away from home but will do some digging in the parts box when I get back. Something about them looks familiar.

Those look just like Electra tuners without the inserts. Here are X210's

I suspect these would drop right in but there would be a hole showing.

Yep. If I can't source original, and intend to re-sell, which of these GFS sets would be the better choice?

Just my 2ยข's mind you, but I'd go with the Gibson styled ones to keep from exposing a drilled hole.

Of all the things I look for in a guitar, even a collector grade purchase, the bottom of the checklist is tuners / machineheads. I guess I find that efficiency trumps originality there.

There's no guarantee those Keystones would line up exactly - I'm sure they would be very close. If it was me I'd buy a new set of Grovers like these.

You shouldnt have much trouble finding a suitable replacement on EBay,,,those are 70's era made by Gotoh....Ibanez, Electra, Aria and a bunch of the other Japanese companies used them. The Ibanez/Electra version had the "Star" on the back and the other manufacturers used the ones with the Gotoh logo (its like a crooked arrow). I just got a set from EBay for $14, but they were missing the ferrels....keep in mind that there are two different types, one with a push in ferrel and the other with the screw in type. Electra used the screw in type (Star) on some models and the pushin type (Electra logo) on others....
