Hey guys!

In an effort to get a clean x340 and some modules, I ended up with one too many of this model, and am looking to let her go to a forum member who will give her a good home...
All original as far as I know. Plays great. No scratchy pots or pickup switch. Has a few dings on the headstock, and the bridge / tailpiece finish is worn off. Tailpiece is slightly pitted. Bridge is still free and adjustable.

Asking $425 shipped, but am open to reasonable offers...

I also have some duplicates of the more common MPC modules if you are interested and don't have any to see what this baby can do with a cool sounding phaser in her! :)

This also came in a Gibson 'chainsaw' case that is rather beat up, and I'm not all that keen on getting rid of, but if you are interested, make me an offer!

PM me or just reply here with any questions / offers / complaints / etc.

Cheers gents!

Nice photo essay. Not sure that the white pickguard is original, but let's not split hairs. I read somewhere that the chainsaw cases are highly regarded... is this true? Good luck.

You are correct on the white pickguard. I think the originals were clear. Good call.

The chainsaw cases are supposed to be the bomb from what I've heard, and it is mighty sturdy, but this particular one is an early one with plastic latches that was just a really bad design imo. They changed them to metal ones later on I guess....
I dunno, this one probably saw it's share of abuse from how it looks....

This one had a lower SN than mine - and also no brass nut or brass bridge sustain block - but has a wave headstock.

Apparently an early wave model - and a nice axe nonetheless .......

I found a number of pictures of X340's with white pickguards (including Randy's), so maybe it is original. The Jacaranda in the '77 catalog has a clear guard, which helps show off the wood. Matt, you should snap a pic with all three Jac's before you split them up!

My X340 had the original clear pick guard - which I changed immediately when I got home from the music store;

I had traded in my first Electra - an X110 Rock Strad (I know - I shoulda kept it) on the new X340;

I had also changed the clear pickguard on the X110 to a white one;
I replaced the pg on the X110 back to the original clear pg prior to the trade-in;

Then I used the white pg from the X110 on the X340 which was there until I recently changed that to a tri layered black one.

Got lucky as I only had to drill a small top hole on the X340; curious that the X330 holes lined up;

I really don't like the clear pickguards; I still have the original clear pg from the X340.

You and me both;

The fact that I literally gave it away in trade in has been a bi@ch for years; it was really a nice axe too.

It had a unique large triangle outline within the stain on the front of the guitar body - don't remember the SN;

I might have to scrounge for some pics;

I'll post if I find any.

Nice, BTW Don't sell her internationally unless you can document the age very well. Jacaranda is a CITES listed wood.

Oh man, that is so awesome! Glad she went to a loving home.

I tell ya, it was a hard decision to let that one go, but three was just really stupid silly so something had to fly. Again, though, I'm happy she will be appreciated.

Nice amps BTW :D ... . See, he didn't mention the epi zephyr or the fender hot rod here on the boards...... 8)
