I am moving to a new apartment in NYC. My wife says that since I am handling 95% of the packing she is going to buy me a new guitar. Any suggestions?

BTW I don't have a hollow-body, semi-hollow or a 12 string.

New as in brand new or new to you? Price range? Acoustic or electric? Would your wife call mine and explain that this is how things work?

One of the members over at the Mats forum (Crusty) has a VS-455 he will be putting up in the future. He also has a Westbury Standard currently on Ebay at about $450.

Personally I'd go for a semi-hollow. If you decide on a 12'er, I have an Alvarez Yairi (SLM connection) acoustic that I'm selling.

None of this was specified. I figured I would just wing it.

I was drooling over it, but my BurgundyPro has shown up, so that will keep me sedated for awhile. It's been listed longer than I thought it would last, so who knows, shoot the seller a offer and see what happens, Mike.

You know guys I think I am understanding why you have to hide your new guitars while my wife offers to get me one.

I don't understand that last, WM. Who would need to hide something as innocent as a guitar from anyone? As one example of how some folk's MMV...

I just got confirmation this morning that a model I have searched high and low for IS available for sale. After showing it to her she immediately demanded to know what I'd been waiting for. When I explained that I'd just found this out in the last 3 minutes she nearly yelled, "No, what are you waiting for right now?!?!"

Just now... right this very moment as I am posting this, she asked if I am getting in contact with the seller yet. When I said I am on the Electra forum she said, "yeah, yeah, whatever... but you did get that guitar taken care of, right?"

Like I said... Your Mileage May Vary.
