Well Jead care to have a go at this neck joint since you did so well with the last one? This is an X810 model that has a slight seperation at the neck joint that looks much like the one you just repaired. Starting bid $75 so the 3 MPC modules are worth that. Looks nice other than the joint seperation.

I will take a crack at it. If the bidding stays low. The modules are gonna jack the price up some though. :( It looks very similar to the issue I was able to correct. They're simply too nice not to fix.

On a side note - I noticed the vine inlay on this doesn't match up on the fret markers. I guess some do and some don't. I wonder if different factories made the same models - some with vines lined up and some without???????

I've never seen an 810 that has the vine aligned to the fret markers, but that would be cool if there were some that aligned like they do on the Elvin/MP. I found the 810 vine slightly distracting but not a show stopper.

I wonder if Iceman's 810 lines up. I agree it's kind of immaterial where the vine lays - If I need a reference it's the markers on the side of the neck.

Oops - not meaning to get you in hot water. The vine pattern on the fingerboard on some (not all) Elvins and Super Magnums have leaves over frets 3.5.7.9.12 etc - The 810's we know of don't line up that way - leaves could be on fret 2 5 7 10 - whatever. It's another small Electra mystery.

You can see examples of a couple x810 inlays here:

No discernable pattern that I can make out on her's, jead. The "root" begins at the 20th fret and runs up to just under the nut. At the side markers it varies between all of the inay features of leaf, stem or flower.

... but she's keeping it, anyway!!

Looks like I'm out of the race on this one. :mad2: Still an OK price but beyond my limit at the moment. If someone here gets it, I'll be glad to walk them through my crude but effective neck reset procedure.

Jead, if you're out on it, I'm in for now. I'd be glad to hear any advice you have on this.
