I'm not totally convinced this is an Electra, but someone spent some serious time and energy covering virtually the entire guitar in tooled leather. The heal doesn't look right, and the headstock has been chopped (if it was an Electra). It's possible it started out its life as a Invicta, but I can't say for certain.

Even the back of the neck is leather... I bet that's comfy. Not my bag, anyone else wanna comment? Cheers, Mike.

P.S. good luck getting into the control cavity!

How many Electra LP-style guitars have 1 pickup? I haven't noticed any personally, they may have made a few jr.s or something...? Unless the guitar has 2 pickup cavities and one's empty and covered up....Also the bridge looks like something they would've put on anything but a LP style axe at Electra. Even the knobs don't look positioned right to me IMO.

If anything, it reminds me more of something APii would've done, but I doubt it was them either.

In any case I think it's pure decoration to hang up in your country/western studio above your outlaw, lol. j/k,

Did anyone notice the craftsmanship on the heel covering? Wow, that's classic stuff.

That's the nicest stuff I could think of to say.....but if you like this one, you might love this project guitar that's just waiting for some TLC:

Wow, that's disturbing (and funny). I doubt Tom Presley ever considered a design like that one!

sorry if I just creeped anyone out. That's why I didn't post it a few days ago, but I figure in the spirit of the leather gingerbread LP it makes more sense.

Yeah, I've seen both of these as well. It is interesting to see someone else's interpretation of their ideal guitar. I've actually thought of doing a couple of themed guitars myself. Buy a couple of cheaper guitars,(or nicer ones depending on $) and put some time, effort, and skill into some inlays with wood and different classy materials to create something stylish. While a leather covered guitar isn't particularly my bag, I would like to try something of my own. BUT.....I wouldn't dare modify one of our orphaned Electra beauties!

Well it looks as if maybe someone had a body that had been butcherd up pretty badly maybe and decided instead of trying to fill and finish it just to cover it up with leather. If you look at the Texas Ranger badge you can see some of the body in the opening and it looks rough to say the least. Turned out to be something different for certain and looks like it has seen some playing time so I guess someone liked it. It is unique to say the least but I am not personally interested in it. Would look great in a rodeo environment onstage etc. To each his own I guess.

Let me make this perfectly clear. It's really for the benefit of the community at large that I bite my tongue and pen in regard to the "leatherman". Plesw overllok any typing mistaked as I had to pluck oit my eyes after vuewing the subjevt guitar.
