Found this one unusual and claims to be an Electra but I have not seen this color or configuration anywhere before. Set neck and not certain on the pups. If Electra I would guess maybe PCM but I did not think PCM had any setneck LP models. I am leary of this one being an actual Electra without clos up shots of the headstock and other areas but still a nice looking Axe.

Asked him for headstock close-up, he said he needed to wait til weekend for better light because he doesn't get home til after dark -- and I told him poor light is ok, just need to see logo, so maybe he'll get pic up soon....I'm real curious about this one, too !!

Height vs. the width seems a touch narrow as well for an open book style or am I seeing things due to the angle.

Agreed that we gotta see a better shot of the front and back of the headstock.

He plans to have headstock pic up tonight, and says the logo is the same as a 1970's hollow body Electra he once owned --- also, previous owner told him it was purchased new in southern California, lending credence to PCM origins -- he also speculates this may have been a saleman's sample, also that the headstock is a small open book like FujiGen Orvilles....... might be pretty cool !!!

too bad we don't have more info on the PCMs.

the 80's "PCM"s have a taller logo. the aspect ratio is not the same as the older models.

I guess since I have 2 earlier PCM's - I should start collecting all the info I can on them (like McBrat and his headstock pics and Corsair info).

wow, the open book does have some "pages missing"

logo is not centered....

looks like there's a sticker (or remnants of one) at the base of the neck.

For some reason this really smacks of the Crate Electras with set necks,Korean made. Maybe a bad attempt to cash in on the price upsurge lately?
Joe

+1 on that. It just looks too new. Also the switch cover screws don't look countersunk. Even the PCM's have that touch.

I tend to agree that it looks more like a made in Korea example... buyer beware, and don't fall for the sellers twice removed stories.

   I agree it looks to new and may also have a few differences. Here is a pic of my 1973 PCM SG headstock and it is somewhat simular but has different tuners and has metal plate logo. I have also seen these style logos also on PCM models but never any tuners like these so I agree nedd very detailed photos and pics of the control cavity wires pots etc.

The thing that jumps out at me is the lack of a pickguard bracket. It appears as if the pg is off the body. I'd like to see if there is a screw hole in the side where the bracket should be mounted. The binding looks pretty uniform too - which could mean nothing but I'd expect some cracks from just about any Electra. As previously mentioned, I bet the tuners might tell more of the story on this one.
