As a young man I foolishly parted with a brand new X-270. I have been searching desperately for one. It needs to be working and in fairly good shape. Let me know if you have one and how much you want for it.

Welcome to the forums, ozzie......the 270 is a nice guitar. Wish I could find one too.

The X270 is awesome. I should have kept mine but I sometimes suffer from severe bouts of stupidity - or maybe its poverty. :)
Good luck finding one.

Jead-I would definitely venture to guess poverty as that is what's driving me to field offers on my x270.

My 82 Sheraton arrived 5 minutes ago and that means I've had a few pieces of gear 5 minutes longer than I can afford them anymore.

I have an x270 w/HSC in VG-Ex condition. There are some light scratches maybe some small chips. Nothing deep or egregious, some light scratching mainly on the heel actually. Still very glossy and has a nice grain to it (as most probably did) and the neck isn't dinged up. Probably the only thing I don't like about it is it has one of the more "textured" rosewood fretboards I've seen on an Electra. Not that it's unusual, but I always prefer a very smooth fretboard. I don't like feeling any texture while I'm fretting. That said, when I pick it up I don't put it back down for an hour or two none-the-less.

As for the electronics, they work perfect in passive. The active system appeared to work intermittently when I got it and I quickly discovered it had a bad 9v harness and I have a couple of new spares to wire up later today. Ironically I meant to do it last night. I will make sure all electronics function perfectly before I sell it. Hopefully hearing the Preamp working fully doesn't make it even harder to part with.

Also I have a bandmate that has asked me numerous times to consider him when selling it, and he just got a better side job (so he might jump on it now)....

If you like x270s then you'll probably like this one a lot. I will post pics and double check the active system a bit later today, as well as contact my band-mate to give him one last chance before I decide to sell for sure.

But I will certainly listen to any offers....(PMs)

Pics and more info to come.

The example I picked up from Joe a couple months back is an absolute monstrous beast of a player. Certainly not the condition you are describing yours to be Jay, but loving it nonetheless.

You have set your sights on a very worthwhile target, ozzie. Good luck with your search.

This was just listed, its a X270, even though the seller doesn't state that. A bit pricey, pickups have been changed, and who knows whether the electronics are still hooked up or work. Don't see them too often, so I thought I'd add to this post.

I think the interest last week was short lived, but the one I've got is definitely less scratched up. At that price, I'd include the original Electra square HSC, but I planned on keeping the case and including a more generic HSC. I never got around to pics (as no PM's arrived) but I'll probably get to it still at some point :D
