I was thinking of making a run at this one. I asked the seller about fret wear, if the neck and body were together originally and if there was a nut on the neck. I have not seen an answer yet.

I see a nut in the headstock picture. I don't see a neck plate or mounting screws though. There are no closeups of the frets, but looks like there is plenty of wear to the fretboard in that same picture.

This body has the (early) smaller studs for the bendmaster, which may be tough to find. At $75 just for the tuners and mmk pickup you'd probably break even, but to restore it, you can figure on another $100 (or more) in parts plus all the labor to put it back together. We've seen X189's complete go for under 2 bills, so this may be a wash unless you're really looking for a project... just my thoughts, Mike.

I have some pick ups that were a giveaway at EF 2011. I have been looking for something to put them in. I won the super strat S-S-H set but it looks like there is one HB with the body to make it H-S-H (with unmatched PU's). I was thinking that finding the bridge and studs as well as push pull knobs was going to be the hard part. Still sitting on the fence on this one.

I was gonna jump in too but decided against it as I have too many unfinished projects. cool color.

if by push/pull knobs, you mean the black metal inverted taper knobs, I just bought a couple to bring my count up to 3... I could be persuaded to part with them for whomever gets this project...

Ooohhhh... Love red burst, and that's not irretrievable by any means...if I was closer I'd be in like a big, hairy dog!

I'm in for the opening bid only... so it'll only take $1 to outbid me...
I don't really need another project but it was calling to me...

feel free to step in. that's why I just went with the opening bid, just in case no one ever bid on it. I won't be able to watch the end of the auction.

I was just thinking the same thing. How beat up is your blue one? Welcome to the forums.

WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!

This "newbie" is not what he seems.

I have it on excellent authority that he is quite well versed in many of the aspects and disciplines necessary to judge, repair, restore, modify and play the electric guitar. Take heed of my words now!!

He is also definitely an all around good guy to boot.

(even though he has been know to own Westones)

...that is all

How's it going, Mike?

Ended up going for just under $88.00. With parts needed that was just a little bit more than I wanted to invest . I'm glad I stayed out of the fray. Anyone here nab it?
