Whenever I contemplate a "major" sale I like to get group shots just to remind me at a later date of how STUPID I can be.
This is one of those times.... I have to pay off some other acquisitions so it seems the trapeze tail Elvin and probably the X650JB will go on the block. I've been pretty steadily narrowing down my Electra's to try and get a good representation of body styles and models. While one of the semi's will need to go, I'd still like to add (again) an X140N and a 2270 Tele. You never know, one day I may run into a Wedge, Explorer, V420VS etc... I'm also obviously lacking an Endorser or other 1-1/2 cut. I've probably had and passed on 20 or 30 other Electra's (many of which I'd like to replace). I could pretty easily retire from the chase and be happy with this "core" group but I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen. :D

Sweeeeeet!! Nice cross section of the line. No other Electra has quite the same finish color as the Leslie West, and the 2259 looks good too. I probably shouldn't even ask, (because I'm waiting on two more high end Electra's to show up) but what are you gonna ask for the trapeze? **EDIT** Just saw your other thread. I thought you had a X810... but maybe it was just you expressing an interest in one.

You're right at that tipping point where lots of guys throw caution to the wind and start filling up their basement with models.... what's keeping you??? Me and Arthur need some company. Congrats on a great grouping, Mike.

Beautiful. I agree though, I'd probably turn one (or two?) of the semi-hollow into capital for further acquisition.

hi what model is the semihollow with the clear pickguard and how does it differ from the Elvin? Do the necks on these mirror 335 necks from a certain era?
Thanks !

That's an X410 Jazz Strad and nearly identical to the Elvin. AFAIK the bowtie neck inlays, gold hardware and tortoise binding are the only differences. I'm not sure if the neck was designed as a copy or not.

As far as how closely the x410 neck mirrors a G#bby from the same era I can say Joe that to me a 335 doesn't quite measure up. While I am by no means the most accomplished player here ( far from it actually ) the neck on my x410 is the best of any of the guits I have hanging around here.

And anyone I've been comfortable about allowing to play it has always confirmed it as well.
