Washtone... or is it a Westburn..? Looks good, I hope the Intonation is close. Another one saved, just think of all the positive Karma you're building up. Cheers to you, Mike.

I can use all the positive I can get :)

the bridge was placed properly for the 34" scale neck, and I'll adjust as needed...

Ingredients: Westone Concord Bass I body, Washburn Force 8 BBR Bass neck, Electra Phoenix Pickups and series/parallel switch, Musicman copy bridge, Wilkinson bass tuning machines, new full size pots, switchcraft jack, Orange Drop tone cap.

I got the pattern made up for the pickguard today... did some of the pre-install wiring last night...

Hey Mcbrat... I saw a Hofner style Electra bass in a local shop yesterday. It has the comic style Electra logo on the headstock. Kinda cool looking, but I don't play bass. Would you know the desireability and reasonable price for such an animal? Looks to be in good condition.

I saw your other post on that bass. The string spacing is tight and best played with a pick. I didnt really like it. I got about 400 for it but it took me a while to sell it...

well, the tuning pegs I bought had too large a footprint to use, so I ended up ordering some black Grover Titan machines. man are they smooth!

so it's strung up now (as of last night), letting the neck acclamate to the string pressure. might need a shim at the top of the neck pocket... saddles are adjusted up all the way, and it's just about right...

It's finished!!!!

Ingredients: Westone Concord Bass I body, Washburn Force 8 BBR Bass neck, Electra Phoenix Pickups and series/parallel switch, Musicman copy bridge, Grover Titan bass tuning machines (I really like), new full size pots, switchcraft jack, Orange Drop tone cap, custom pickguard.

And here's a comparison shot. Top one is a pic of a Concord I that's on eBay right now. and it's exactly what this one looked like when it was new...

and a recap of it's progression...

How I got it...

The answer is right there in Mick's signature...

A Washtone ElectraForce. Kinda rolls right off the tongue nicely!

Looks like that bridge covers up almost all of those holes, good choice! How does she play? I wonder if the balance is a bit neck heavy with the smaller body? Is that a series/parallel switch? I like those big red knobs too. Congratulations!

It took me a while to find one with a large plate like that...

So far it feels pretty good. doesn't feel neck heavy really, but with the shorter body it hangs differently. still not quite used to that. The neck feels really good. makes my neck thru corsair feel like a baseball bat...

Is that a series/parallel switch?
Yes, it's a series/parallel switch from an X-640.
I like those big red knobs too. Congratulations!

:D

thanks everyone! I wasn't sure on the knobs. I could have gone with the phoenix style notched knobs.
