I have a nice Sunburst American Strat built 1994 and it gets played every month or two. I have a non-reverse Gibson Firebird that is a project. It needs a new fretboard installed and then a reassembly. It does not get played yet. No Gretsch.

I have an Epiphone Firebird - does that count? Otherwise, divested myself of Gender's and Fibson's - never owned a Gretsch.

My wife virtually slept with her '69 LPC for over a dozen years, occasionally pulled out her '64 Jaguar if a song required it or the mood struck her. Same goes for her '65 Starfire IV.

My 3 Gibbies do not see much time lately unless it is my '62 Melody Maker. I try to noodle on my Squier Strat once a blue moon if that, well... if you can call what I attempt noodling.

No Gretsch ever here either, although if'n I ever hit the lottery a White Penguin is the first thing I would needlessly purchase.

70s stratobitser... refinished, rewired, re-bloody-everything...

... once again; in storage. I haven't even seen this one for 3 years....

And shouldn't that be the "big 4"? I'd have a Rickenbacker 360/12 in a heartbeat....

Well as most know I do have a few non Electra models as well. Series 10, Westones,Peavey,Cort,Vantage and a few others but the only so called Big Guns I own are a 1984 Fender Dan Smith Stratocaster in Sienna Sunburst with maple neck, a MIM Dark Blue Stratocaster, and a 2000 Fender Deluxe HSS strat in the Gold/honey color. I play them now and again but my Electras are the choice around here when it comes time to play. I also have the Kramer XL8 8string Bass that is really cool and fun to play. I do admit that I do need more Electras to play and I have a modest goal to reach of one of each model and color offered by Electra. I admit it will take a long time to reach that lofty goal but in the end it should be worth it I think.

Gretsch? I thought the big three were Fender, Gibson, and Ibanez. I've seen more Ibanez guitars around than I have Fenders or Gibsons. Just not the good old Ibanezes.

Edit: I own none of the above.

I could play the Ibanez game but I'd be banned from the board if I did.

Not banned they made some good guitars.

I have none of the big names. Being a bass player I would be more interested in an Alembic or a Ric if I was going out of the Matt family. I never connected with any Fender P-bass, have liked a few J basses. I had a Gibson EB-3 at one time. I hated it.

No "big 3" now, but I used to have a '70 Musicmaster bass. That one always felt really good... I currently only have 2 non SLM beasties... my '33 National Steel Style O from my Grandpa, and a Harmony Stella my Grandma just gave me.

I've got a double set (Strat, Tele, bass) of "Contemporary" Fenders that I'll use sometimes. Also a Gibson WRC that I used to play quite a bit, but it hasn't been out much lately.

Not to stray too much from the "Big 3" -

No Gibson - but I am still catching flak about selling my 68 Firebird in 1971 ..........

Also sold an ES-175 Thinline - should have kept them both ..........

I now have a Fender American Deluxe Strat HSS 2010 model -

and for the last 15 years a 1997 PRS Custom 24 - 10 Bird -

and of course my brothers G&L Tribute Legacy - all keepers and players.
