Hey All,

I'm about to pick up an X185. The bridge on it will work for a short time, but I'll have to replace it soon. Does anyone know the screw spacing? I'd like to have one here when I get the guitar. Thanks!

Andy

Yo Andy! Let me pull mine out and measure it up to be certain, but 2 & 7/8th's seems familiar.

Be back in a jif...

Anybody miss me? Did I fool any of you?

Unless your x185 has a two post bridge (which should make it an x189 actually) the spacing on your 6 screw Tekglide trem will be 7/8th's " center to center for a grand total of 2 & 1/4" end to end.

Spacing on a two poster I am unable to help you with, but someone will be along shortly who can.

Awesome, thank you! It is the 6 post X185. It was listed as an X199, after he described it to me, I figured it to be a 185. The bridge is functional, but has something broken on it. I'll likely pick up a replacement from GFS with a brass block. We'll see. Thanks again!

Is there a typo in this? That doesn't seem to add up, unless I'm missing. 7/8ths seems to be a huge distance.

And, oh yes, plenty of pics when I get it!

Okay Andy I figgured it out... I'm a bleeding idiot is what's the matter here.

Try this instead... 7/16th's of an inch for a total spread of 2 & 3/16th's center to center. Now if Paul could just add a facepalm smiley it would be perfect.

In all honesty I rarely use a ruler for anything anymore after years of calipers, micrometers, laser inferometers, etc.

It is a sad but true statement I am about to make .... I can dial in and hold tolerances of size and form down into the millionth's of an inch, just don't hand me a tape measure when it's time to frame walls.
