Don/t want a bid war on this one but I have spoken with the seller and I am also interested as I had also tried to contact the seller from clist to no avail. The current seller is not the same person. PM me and lets see what we can do so the price will stay low. Thanks Arthur

If you've been on Westone in the last day or so you know I already gave those boys the heads up Arthur. It is around the same area of Wisconsin as that one we could never get a reply out of, right?

Correct. I never got any reply from the clist seller but this seller replied promptly and seems nice even though he has 0 feedback on the bay. He stated he was not the same seller and I believe he may have been the one that purchased it then and that is why we never got a reply from clist.

Got it. contemplating swapping necks (and other stuff) with the white one, to have the white one be full stock condition, or as close as I can get... will depend on how it is in person, plus I'm really liking the fretless....

Congrats, you just can't get enough of the Quantum huh Mick! I thought the fretless felt really good on the white one too, although I've only played a handful personally. I guess you could end up doing a complete electronic swap out to make the white one original again, I thought the finish was great on that one. I'm sure you'll keep us informed with what you decide to do.

arrived today! Sept. 84 Build date on neck (84009) with red side dots. ('85 has white side dots)
Originally black.
pots and jack changed out. pups appear original but painted over.
dunlop dual-type straplock pin on end. normal strap pin on neck plate. has flatwounds on it. cam in a regular guitar case with special added duct tape where the strings always tear at stuff on these...

action feels really good...

will get it plugged in later...

84009 is a meaningless number. It is applied to ALL 1984 Rails and Quantums. Are the pickups original? Someone on the Westone forum said the Magnaflux RB in his Rail was an MMK53, and I've never replaced or removed the strings on any of mine to check behind him. The Quantum also used RBs, so I'm curious what's under there.

yeah, it is a clearcoated, custom paint job with some airbrushing done some time ago, as there are a few edge dings through to the wood. The flag is just on the front and side, but the back was repainted black too. it has RIC style knobs with the aluminum centers colored with a black marker it looks like...
